Men Gettin' Ready

I am not much of a writer nor a blogger. My wife told me I should give summaries of the guys getting ready for the wedding, so here it is...

This is me reading the scrapbook that Megan gave me. We decided to give each other sentimental wedding gifts. You will notice there is no picture of Megan's wedding gift. Unfortunately, I did not have it ready. In fact, she didn't get her gift until about 4 months after the wedding. BUT, it was special and I don't think she will ever get something like that again. You'll have to ask her.

I think we got tired of waiting in the lobby, so we decided to wait in the Executive Level Lounge before the limo arrived.

Me telling everyone to get going.

This is us waiting in the lobby area for the limo. I had quite a bit on my mind.

I like this one. Daddyo (Alan) is a good guy.

Colin and James waiting around for the limo

Grammy talkin to Daddyo with Russ listening in. Daddyo could tell I was quite a bit nervous that day, but kept reminding me that "everything would be OK"

I think this was me on the phone with Walker or Ken

My hydrangis flower that Megan picked. She didn't let me do the daffodils I had picked myself.

I'm not nervous at all....nope not one bit.

I don't remember much of this part. But we must have been doing something.

LXA's chillin before the ceremony

Still not nervous at all

Minus the fact that I'm about 20 lbs overweight, I actually like this picture.

I will try and blog when Megan tells me too. But again, not much of a writer.

I am glad 2009 is gone. GOOD RIDDANCE! It seems like my "bad" years always fall on years ending in 9 (Minus OF COURSE the fact that I married Megan! So I guess, the best thing to happen this decade happened in a bad year). 1999 wasn't the best year for me either if I recall. Don't remember much about 1989.

Welcome 2010! I'm ready for a big good year. BIG news coming from the Owen household in February possibly March. A select few of you all ready know what I'm talking about, but are sworn to secrecy. This is good news though! (And no, the news isn't that Megan is pregnant.)

Thanks to my wonderful wife for being there for me during this past year. Megan has been wonderful and such a blessing. Her family (and mine) have been great this year as well!

Sic 'em,

GREG

Girls Wedding Primping

July 25, 2009 came so quickly! I had no idea nine months would go by so fast. I thought nine months was a pretty long engagement period, but boy was I wrong! It was a blast planning the wedding and it was finally time for the big day. And let me tell you, that big day went by in such a flash! I can't believe how quickly the day was over.

My girls and I spent the night in the wonderful Presidential Suite the night before, and we were able to wake up, grab some breakfast, and then start getting ready. My hair and makeup girls showed up that morning and began working diligently on us, getting us all beautified. John also arrived and started taking pictures of us. We spent then entire morning and afternoon in the suite getting ready. This came as a surprise to most, but I was very calm and collected. I seem to usually do well under pressure, and this was no exception. I guess being in numerous theatrical and musical performances have helped me learn how to calm my nerves. Although this wasn't just any old production - this was my wedding day! I was very excited!!!!

Below are a few pictures of the wedding prep in the suite that morning/afternoon. These pictures deserve an entire blog post!

The morning and afternoon leading up to the wedding was virtually stress-free. We all had a blast getting ready together and there were really no hiccups in the day leading up to the wedding. I had so much fun being with my girls. They are my best friends (well, besides Greg)!

Once we got to the church, I started to get a little nervous. I heard the choir practicing, and they sounded amazing. It really got me thinking, "Wow, I'm really here. I'm wearing a wedding dress and I am literally about to get married." We were given our bouquets, took a few pictures in the front of the church and then spent the rest of the time waiting in the bridal room. Waiting was probably the hardest part.

I don't even remember what we were laughing at here, but it sure does make a cute picture.

Lovely ladies!

What lies next is what will change my life forever - me marrying the love of my life!!!

Next post: the boys' getting ready. I don't know if I can get Greg to put together that post, but if anything, I'll have pictures.
