#2. "Nasty Radiation-Brained Monkey Astronauts"
PETA really makes me want to change my attitude towards their 'wonderful' organization:
Not really.
(If you can't read it, it says: ["Nasty" instead of NASA logo] "NASA Take a giant leap for mankind. Stop torturing monkeys.")
This billboard is a big WHAAAAT?! Katie and I saw this coming back from a shopping trip at the Galleria. She shot this picture, so all the credit goes to her! BTW, I live down the street from NASA. Hopefully PETA doesn't come and start throwing blood down my street.
Upon further investigation, I have read that PETA is pissed because NASA plans to test the effects of radiation on monkeys in outer space. Read here. So, WTF is this billboard supposed to accomplish since nobody knows WTF you're talking about?!

These people will be the first I want to call if I get into a legal bind.
This billboard is in a bad spot to get a picture driving, unless I wanted to risk my life. So I found the next best thing - their website! BEST. MARKETING. STRATEGY. EVER.

The second one cracks me up. And you're right - if people don't know what PETA's billboard is about it just makes them look angry and ignorant. That money could have been better spent!
Please tell me where that 2nd billboard is! I can only picture the areas.
The NASA one makes no sense to me. Wouldn't it be more "effective" near uhh, NASA and not in the freaking 3rd Ward? Guess PETA is on a budget!

hahahaha I love PETA, if not only because of their silly and obnoxious billboards. I saw one a while back that had a picture of an overweight woman on it and it said "save the whales. lose the blubber: go vegetarian"
They're awesome!! Now I'm gonna have to steal the idea and go look for all the dumb signs we have around here! lol
