Ronroneando

That's the Spanish word for "purring."

My stepmother is from Colombia. We were over at my dad's house. We were talking about Dexter, one of my absolute favorite subjects to talk about. I was saying something about how much he purrs all the time. She didn't understand the word "purring" so we were acting it out, purring ourselves. And she was like,

"Ah! Ronroneando!"

We all go, "WHAT?!"

That's the craziest word I've ever heard, in any language.

Hi Meg, That's so interesting! I have had several students from Columbia who are so beautiful inside and out! I enjoy hearing them telling me about their culture. I'm following you now! Thanks for stopping by! Roz at La Bella Vita

When I first saw the word, I thought of a part in Harry Potter where Ron's girlfriend refers to him as 'Ron Ron!'

That word is way cooler than "purring"! I'll be using that instead from now on. :)
