I Need Vacation Ideas

Greg and I made a deal that this year. I get to plan our summer vacation!

I am pumped because he has planned the last few, including the location! Of course I would love to go back to Europe this summer, but because of the prices and the amount of time Greg can take off, it's not looking so good. Phooey. If anyone can find some cheap, but nice European deals for me during the summer, send them my way!

So, anyway, I've narrowed down my realistic vacation destination choices to 4 spots in North America.

Here are my top 4 choices, in my current order of preference.
I need some help deciding and when I do, I would love your input on where to stay and what to do!

{1} Napa Valley
This trip would also include San Fransisco and possibly Yellowstone. I've never been to Northern California, and I am a huge foodie, so I think this would be tons of fun for me.

{2} Montreal
I hear so many good things about French Canada, I would love to visit!

{3} Miami
I've spent a few days in Miami before (a long time ago after a cruise) and I've always wanted to go back after watching so many seasons of Dexter.

{4} New York City
I have also been to NYC, but believe it or not, only once before. Being the huge theatre nerd I am, this would be awesome to watch so many shows. And being the huge cupcake freak that I am, I could finally visit Crumbs.

I need help deciding! Out of those four, which one would you pick and why?

I love new york city. The shows the food. the shopping. Just the difference from everyday life. I love it there for a couple of days.

I could totally see y'all going to Napa. And Yellowstone is beautiful, you can rent little cabins their for a night or however long. But if you see a bear my Mom will probably never speak to you again since that is her life long dream and it still hasn't happened.

All that said, my vote is for Napa!

As a Canadian I am compelled to tell you to go to Montreal... I am still going to vote on New York City. I've never been and always wanted to go - and I think with all the shows you could see, and the cupcakes you could eat it sounds fantastic.

I've only been to Montreal twice, and it's a neat city, but I wouldn't necessarily make it your vacation spot. In Canada for your Summer vacation I would choose Vancouver or Halifax... both on the coast and both beautiful. I haven't been to either but I've heard absolutely AMAZING things. I've been to British Columbia, but not to the beautiful Vancouver - plus you could also go to Victoria island as well - it's always a top summer vacation choice for Canadians.

I vote Montreal. NYC is so busy and crowded it just stresses me out. Miami is ok, but eh. And I've never been to Napa Valley but it does look beautiful.

I vote for Napa/San Francisco! Partially because we are planning to go there for our honeymoon ;)

All your choices are great, though. I visited Montreal about 8 years ago and loved it - such a beautiful city. I grew up outside of NYC, so that is a favorite place of mine and I definitely recommend going. And Miami? Beaches + warm weather = always fantastic.

All great choices. I have never been to Montreal but I really want to. Napa Valley/San Fran and NYC are two of my favorite places I have ever been. Not sure you can go wrong!

Napa Valley, hands down! It's GORGEOUS (so I've heard) and there's so much wine and food. That would seal the deal for me!

The other options are nice too, although NYC and Miami can get pretty pricey once you factor in all the fancy restaurants and fun.

Definitely NYC...and it will be even cheaper when you don't have to pay for a hotel room because you're staying with your friends on Long Island! Also, does this mean we won't be going to Bonaire this summer? Good...because we don't have enough money for that trip quite yet :)

Well I am biased for living in NYC... but I would say that you should come here for the Crumbs because it is out of this world.. I have Crumbs right near my office.. Bad location to put it in, so tempting.

best,

Hannah Katy

Oh my, they all look awesome! I would vote for NYC or Napa Valley, but what do I know? I've never been to either, haha.

Good luck choosing and planning your awesome vacation!

LOL! I love your comment about Dexter! I went to Miami last year and honestly, that's alllll I thought about! But it really wasn't that great of a vacation spot. It's very touristy. South Beach is nice but again, super super touristy.

I LOVED Napa valley when I went there with a boyfriend a couple years ago. It was the perfect romantic getaway for us - definitely not overrated at all.

I went to Montreal for a day when I visited some family in Canada and I loved it. I think I'm actually going to road trip back there with some friends for a longer period of time in the next couple of because it's a hidden gem of a vacation spot. It's a little taste of Europe so close to home.

And of course, New York - you can't ever go wrong with that! Shopping, Shows, the Nightlife!

Wow, I really didn't help you narrow the choices at all... haha - but I guess it just boils down to the type of getaway your looking for.... :)

All of those places sound great. I am such a sucker for New York, but I have never been to Montreal.
