While I do own many makeup tools, there are ones I reach for almost on a daily basis. I'd like to think of these as my staples. I thought I'd share them with you and get your input on some of your favorite tools. It appears that, not only am I high-maintenance, but a tool snob. 5 out of the 6 tools are high-end. In my defense, they last for years (granted that you clean and treat them properly).
I love this eyelash curler. It's comparable to Shu Uemura, with more availability. I found this at Ulta. This curler really gives my eyes a nice pop. It doesn't pull or tug at my lashes.
I love using this brush for blush. It seems to work perfectly on the apples of my cheeks. It is also good to use with a contour powder/bronzer in specific areas of your face.
I like the flat head to this brush. It allows me to get the liner as close to the lash line as possible. This is great for tightlining.
Ecotools Bronzer Brush
Ecotools Bronzer Brush
Seriously, one of the best bronzer brushes I've ever used, and I got it at the drug store. The brush itself is fairly large, and the bristles are incredibly soft. I find that this gives an even all-over application of bronzer.
This is definitely a multi-use brush. You can blend just about anything with it - from concealer underneath your eyes, to highlighters around your face, to blending in crease colors with eyeshadow. I tend to use this the most for eyeshadow, but I'm thinking about going and getting another one for face uses (highlighters and concealers).
This is a lovely brush if you use a liquid foundation. You "stipple" your foundation on - that is, you dip the brush in your foundation and then dab the brush all over your face. It applies in little dots (this is good because it is even all around your face). Then you swirl the brush even more around your face and it blends the foundation on even more effortlessly. This provides a flawless, airbrushed application.
What are your go-to makeup tools? Anything you simply cannot live without?
I'd love to hear your thoughts and recommendations!

I totally agree! You can buy the most expensive makeup but with cheap tools? It's just not at it's full potential! I LOVE the Sephora brushes!
What would I do without you and your makeup recommendations?
I think I need your help next time I go makeup shopping...hahaha
I have the Ecotools concealer brush! Works so well! I've never used any Mac products except lip gloss and eye shadow, but I've been wanting to give their foundation a try for a while now.
I use NARS brushes but Im not loving them so I may trade in for these :)
I actually don't use a lot of brushes. I'm too low-maintenance sometimes with makeup. Can I please come visit with a big wad of cash so you can take me shopping? :)
Hi there- found you through the hop and am a new follower. Its funny- I hardly ever wear makeup, but I have a TON of it, and I'm pretty good at application. I love my Maybeline eyelash curler ( like the pink one here: http://www.cosmeticcandy.me.uk/beauty-tools--accessories-59-c.asp) and the brushes from Bare Essentials are pretty great too.
I hope you have time to follow my life in South Africa by http://withoutcomplexities.blogspot.com
I hope you have a great weekend!
I have a few Paula Dorf and Lancome brushes that I adore... and Estee Lauder, that I received through gratis..
I agree! Good brushes make a big difference! :)
I could not live without my Smashbox eyebrow brush. I have really defined eyebrows, but they're pretty thin, so I have to fill them in to an Elizabeth Taylor kind of bushy-dom. the long handle of their brush gives great control and the bristles themselves are firm, with just enough give to create individual looking "hairs".

I cannot live without an eyelash curler. The other day a girl asked me if my eyelashes were real! It makes such a huge difference!!
I love makeup, but am bad at it. I would have no idea what to do with these brushes. Being better/more knowledgeable with makeup is a goal I have!!
I do not know what I would do without these wonderful brushes! the only one I can not reccomend is the bronzing brush, only because I have not used it.
I found you by clicking your link on the DIC hop, and boy did I enjoy poking around!! :D

I really need that bronzer brush!!!!!! Do you think MAC's brushes are better than Sephoras brushes? I have wanted to ask you that before and today was the perfect opportunity to!!!!!
eyelash curler! can not live without that!
*high five* to another high maintenance girl! ;)
Love all your essentials! MAC has the best brushes!! Oh and I love your blog header. It looks great!
love these recommendations. its pretty sad that i have no idea how to apply or buy makeup, and i loved reading about this!
When I worked with Prescriptives, I used all their special brushes and loved them. Now, not so much. I just slap it on and go!
I am going to have to try the Bobbi Brown Liner Brush. I always have a problem with my eye liner. Thanks for the information.
New follower from the blog hop. Hope you follow back.
I just picked up a new MAC 224 today. It's the best concealer brush I've ever owned.
excellent recs...! I own all but the eco tools brush. Although, I have been hearing a lot of good things about that company and recently Samantha Chapman's line which seems to be a nice alternative for those on a budget... I think?
