The O. Family Special Occasion Egg Casserole
Ingredients:
6 eggs, slightly beaten
8 slices bread, cubed
1 lb. or 12 oz. package of breakfast sausage, cooked
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups milk
Preparation Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and let sit for 12 hours or overnight in the refrigerator. Bake in a shallow casserole dish at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
Notes:
You can make a healthy version of this by using turkey/light breakfast sausage, 3 eggs plus 3 egg beaters, and low fat cheese. We do this a lot of the time.
Do you have a special breakfast you always eat on special occasions?

Nom nom nom, now you've got this pregnant gal craving your baking! ;)
My fave part--the men are responsible for making!
that looks amazing! i think I will have to make it for my hubby this weekend since we finally wont be traveling!
I've been hunting for a good egg casserole. This looks manageable for my lack of cooking abilities :)
breakfast sausage in it sounds delicious;
i cant have cheese..or milk sooooo this would not turn out as good for me. but this sounds delicious and makes me wish i werent lactose intolerant
I pretty much use this exact same recipe when I make my breakfast casseroles! It is so yummy. Sometimes I will make one on Sunday night and my husband and I will eat it for breakfast every day during the week :)
Allen's Mom makes this casserole and it's become a favorite of mine. Anytime someone stays at our house I try to have this ready to put in the oven the next morning.
Love it!

I will need to try this out! Thanks!
We make a similar casserole for Christmas morning every year but not usually at any other time. That looks good... and makes me ready for Christmas morning!
I just stumbled through your blog from Jessica's blog (You are my color) We have a lot in common! My name is Meg, my husband's name is Greg, and I have my first baby due in January!!! How crazy is that? I thought I would say hello. I am new follower and am excited to read more. Hope you are feeling well and kicking those feet up when you can.
