My First Book Swap!

I participated in my first book swap hosted by none other than my BFF, Katie, and the fabulous new momma, Heather!

I was partnered up with Emily from Emmy June (born in May)

Look how cute she is!

She is SoCal transplant living in Australia. How awesome!! I think it's pretty amazing I can do a book swap with someone in a different continent!

I gotta say, I was a bit intimidated by Emily being my swap partner since she seems very well read and well versed in literature. We exchanged emails back and forth. I tried so hard to figure out what I would get her, but I was at a loss since all I had been reading for the past year has been baby books and plays. Yeah, that was one of my reasons for joining the swap - so I could get something different!

She got me:
The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver

I am so excited to read this book again! I read it in high school but honestly, I didn't appreciate it or did I even pay attention to it. She got it for me because of the great character development and storyline. I like a good read like that. I have started it (I'm still reading other baby books and I am on the last Hunger Games book) and I am really liking it so far. So excited to finish it!

Go check out Emily's blog to see what I got her!

Have y'all read any good books lately? Have you ever done a book swap? It's so much fun!

Meeeeeeeg, Emily is my Blog BFF! For. Real. Isn't she fantastic? We're already scheming ways to meet IRL in Houston and SoCal (my home) when she's back in the states later this year.

I haven't read The Poisonwood Bible yet, but it's on my list. I've been told it's amazing! Enjoy it this second time around!

It was so fun swapping with you Meg! It's also lovely to see other bloggers commenting on how much they liked this book. Hopefully you will too! But I don't blame you for finishing the HG trilogy first ;)

Hugs from Australia!
Em

I read another Barbara Kingsolver book in high school and it bored me to tears so let me know if this one is better! I've been hesitant to give her another chance but that's really not very nice of me.

I hope you thoroughly enjoy it!

Hi there, stopping over from Emmy's blog and am a new follower!

What a great idea this book swap!

I love the Poisonwood Bible. I read it in High School too and it's one of my all-time favourite openings of a novel yet. I did find the ending dragged on a bit ... she could have ended it about 15 chapters before she did. But, such an amazing book.

Enjoy!
