When Revlon released their whipped creme version of my beloved foundation, I went out and immediately bought it. The reviews were looking good. I was positive I was going to love it before I even applied it. I'm pretty sure I ripped it open in the car driving home in attempt to play with it. (I was at a red light, for reference.)
FIRST THOUGHTS:
- The price on it is a dollar more than the liquid foundation, and you get less product (0.8 oz vs. 1 oz).
- When I opened the jar, it wasn't filled up all the way, which made me feel a bit jipped.
- The packaging is a bit unhygenic, as you have to scoop the product out with your fingers instead of a pump.
- Despite my sentiments for the packaging, it does remind me of something very high end and fancy. The glass is heavy (not that great for traveling), and quite a pretty jar.
USING THE PRODUCT:
- I find that you have to work even quicker with this foundation than you do the liquid foundation because it tends to cake if you do not.
- I like applying this with my Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge. I run the sponge under water, squeeze out the excess. I then dot the foundation over my face and blend.
- The shade matches my skin pretty perfectly, and is identical to the liquid foundation.
- Coverage was pretty darn impressive. I like a full coverage foundation. I think this foundation is even more full coverage than the liquid foundation (major bonus)!
- The consistency wasn't any more "light" or "airy" than the liquid. I think the liquid is pretty thin and the creme has more of a creamy consistency (go figure), which doesn't necessarily make it lighter. Not a bad thing because I do like the consistency.
THE PRODUCT ON ME:
| This photo is un-retouched. I also might add I didn't apply any concealer after using the foundation. |
FINAL THOUGHTS:
- I definitely think this foundation is worth picking up, especially if you are a fan of the liquid.- I don't feel like its "lighter" or "more airy" although I do like the consistency.
- If you don't know which one to get, I say go with the creme if you are new to Colorstay. I find that this one gives you more buildable coverage.
- This is not for you if you like a full coverage foundation.
- On that note, I think this foundation gives the best coverage of any foundations I've EVER tried.
- Basically, you need it if you're a foundation junkie like myself.

I'll be interested to give this a try if it ever finally comes to Australia! Just wondering, have you tried the new oil-free Garnier BB Cream? I'm quite impressed with it so far... :)
Life etc
This is a great review! I am such a product junkie!! I just fear buying over the counter because I can't try it on....but I'm always up for trying new things!!
Well don't you just look GORGE?! I love when you do product reviews. I typically just use powder because I hate the "wet" feel of foundation and I feel like it's cakey on me. This one sounds different though, maybe I'll try it out!
I love beauty reviews! I was in the market for a new foundation but ended up buying one by Clinique yesterday [thanks to a Sephora gift card!] I used Revlon Color Stay back in the day and remember liking it so I think I'll be picking it up next! :)
Looks fantastic on you! My issue is always that I never know what shade I am, when it comes to drugstore makeup... probably always the lightest shade lol!
I love a full coverage foundation! I absolutely love Revlon but have never tried their foundation. I have heard many great things about the Whipped so I am going to have to give it a try! Your skin looks FLAWLESS in that photo!
Meg, you are SO pretty! That is a great picture of you, and you've sold me on the foundation!
I saw you bought this a day after I bought a new bottle of the liquid, and I cursed myself because I wanted to try it. Cremes always seem to give you less product, but I like the way they feel better. I'll get it when I run out of the almost brand new bottle of liquid I have.
Alright well I am sold! I need to go pick some up. I'm always afraid of drug store foundation because I can't have anyone match me and I'm awful at doing it myself? Any tips? I know there is the back of your hand but my hands are way more tan than my face!
sounds like a great product! you look totally gorg in that pic! i'll def pick this up if it will make me as pretty as you! :)
Ok I think I will be going out and buying this tomorrow! I have been using Maybelline Fit and have really liked it, but I am itching to try something new. I had been wanting to try Makeup Forever Mat so this might be a good thing to try instead!! Thanks for telling us about it!!
Oh and where did you get your necklace?!?!?! I have been wanting one of those and was browsing some on etsy but haven't been sold on a certain seller yet.
You must've read my mind... I've been looking for some great foundation! I'm definitely going to pick this up the next time I go shopping.

I've been interested in liquid foundations but I have oily skin so I've been a bit nervous. Do you think this (or even the creme) would make oily skin worse?
i've been looking at this product, so thanks for reviewing it! i think i'll skip it and just stil w liquid
ohhhh I'm going to have to try this because I'm a foundation junkie too and love a fuller coverage. Great review! I think you should write a post about matching the color to your skin. It's what seems to be the hardest thing for me when purchasing drug store brands.
I see that we use the same color. :) I actually love this foundation, though I shouldn't have been surprised b/c I love Revlon! Except for their nail polish, but oh well, can't win 'em all.
I love your beauty reviews. :)
What color are you using?
I really want to try this now! But you know, lately I feel like drug store makeup is basically just as expensive as the high end stuff! I keep seeing drug store foundation for $14 and even more . . . when the stuff at Sephora isn't all that much more expensive. I use Bare Minerals all the time, but I'd like to find a foundation to sort of supplement. I'll have to give this a try if I can find a deal on it!
I've been wanting to try this- thanks for the review!
I know I commented on this post earlier, but I'm still thinking about this product. I'm buying it on my way home from work today :-)
