A Consolation Cat Fetching Video

Hi, friends. Wow, has life really taken up every single second of my free time. Between directing my show and reaching opening night, being a mom, having inlaws come into town, a sick baby (her first time being sick ever and I had to be at the show), and other general life stressors, blogging has really taken a backseat.

With that being said, look at my play! Isn't it pretty?

I am going to slow things down here on blog land until I feel like my life has evened out. Let me also be honest, I'm just not feeling it. Everyone goes through their blogging ups and downs, and right now is a big down. I don't really feel the need to apologize for it, since being a wife, mother, and teacher is my number one priority. I do miss the community and I miss connecting on a daily basis, but having literally zero free time makes me really reevaluate my priorities. Any second of free time needs to be spent with my husband and darling girl. I feel like time literally flew by and my baby was ten months. This makes me so sad because I always feel things like, "I wish I would have taken more pictures" or "I wish I would have spent more time rocking her without my phone in hand."

Alas. I will be back when I'm starting to feel it again. Don't we all need a little hiatus from things once in a while? Breaks make life better.

And if it's any consolation, I have an updated video of Dexter playing fetch. It's a gem.

Ten Months

Today Kennedy is ten months old! Can we just stop for a moment and take a collective cry because my baby is now in the double digits?!

KENNEDY LATELY:
- Miss thing is growing more and more of a personality. She is always letting you know exactly how she feels. She can be so silly at times, and other times she is just so serious.
- Kennedy has eight teeth! Don't you love that toothy smile? I think she's about to cut more teeth.
- She now crawls faster than ever and is pulling herself up on everything.
- And on that note, she just started "cruising" - she will pull herself up and then walk around while holding onto furniture. Hold me.
- She has started waving a lot. It is pretty much the cutest thing in the world.
- Kennedy is now eating three meals of solids - breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She also nurses or drinks her milk in a sippy cup (when she's at school) during the day. She loves water. She will also try any food that you give her. She really isn't a picky eater at all!
- I have been taking Kennedy to rehearsal with me and then Greg picks her up from me after about an hour or two. She does great with the kids, but she gets very tired.
- Kennedy is so social and loves loves loves her teachers and the other babies in her class.
- Lately, because of her long day, she has been going to bed before 7:00 and sleeps until we wake her up in the morning around 6:30! She is such a good sleeper.
- Kennedy is pretty much the best baby ever.

A Late Night Singing Vlog Featuring No Makeup and 3 Part Harmony

Well, folks - I'm still alive. I have zero free time, which is always fun. Opening night is fast approaching (for those of you that are new around here, I teach and direct high school theatre) this Thursday, and I truly do miss my free time and sanity.

Tonight I had some much needed alone time, so I took a shower and while I was singing in the shower, I thought it would be fun to do a singing vlog! I have done this one other time on my blog, many a years ago (so if you can find it, kudos to you and you get a cookie). Therein the problem lied - crazy air dried hair and no makeup. Two things you never catch me in the flesh.

Whatever, yo.

I have nothing to hide. And I love this song to pieces.

Well that's a lovely face.

I love how blogging can really keep me in check sometimes. I actually thought about reapplying my makeup and go crazy with fixing my hair just to film a stupid singing vlog. But what's the fun in that? To me it felt false and staged. I wanted to feel candid. I just wanted to sing the song, edit in the harmonies (I promise you I did this all in iMovie and without crazy music editing software) and call it a night. I just enjoy singing harmonies and wanted to have a little fun. Yes, this is fun for me for a Saturday night. Who cares if it isn't perfect? Who cares if I wipe snot away from my nose various times (stupid allergies)? Who cares if my video isn't HD and the sound is crappy quality?

It's me tonight. Me right now.

September Beauty Favorites

It's that time of month again! No... not that time.

Beauty favorites time!!!

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7

1. E.L.F. GLOSSY GLOSS IN WILD WATERMELON
I gave E.L.F. another try and bought a bunch of stuff when everything was half off a few months ago. I really like this gloss. It reminds me a lot of MAC Lipglass, but I got it for... I think $1.50? I am a huge sucker for anything bright pink, and this is no exception. The color is beautiful. It goes on easy. My only qualm with it is that it's a little sticky. But most lip glosses are. This particular E.L.F. order I made was very hit or miss and this one was a hit!

2. EOS TRAVEL SIZE EVERYDAY HAND LOTION - CUCUMBER I was initially drawn to the packaging of this product. I liked how small and sleek it is! I like my beloved Eos lip balm, and this is just as awesome in my opinion! I love how moisturizing it is and how I can throw it in any purse.

3. MARY KAY LASH PRIMER
BlogHer and Mary Kay sent me a plethora of wonderful products to try out and review, and I tell you, this is probably my favorite of the bunch. Surprisingly, I have never used a lash primer before because I thought it would just add an extra step to my routine without much payoff, but I was so pleasantly surprised by this product. My lashes stayed curled and put for twelve hours!! I was amazed! My lashes also feel a bit more healthier after using this.

4. ONE 'N ONLY ARGAN OIL
My hair texture has been so whacko ever since giving birth. It started falling out in clumps at three months postpartum and then it just got frizzy and brittle. I wasn't coloring my hair very much (in fact, I even went ombre to avoid frequent colorings). Hormones just made my hair crazy. I had used pure argan oil before that I ordered online, but I was at Sally's and I picked this up on a whim. I remember hearing somewhere that this was a dupe for the beloved Moroccan Oil treatment. I ended up really liking this a lot! I know it's got a bit of silicones in it, but I felt like it was one of the only things that helped tame my hair. I love the scent, also!

5. WET 'N WILD COLOR ICON PALETTE - PETAL PUSHER
Wet 'n Wild seriously has some of the most pigmented eyeshadows! Read my other review here on the Comfort Zone palette.  I bought this because I wanted to create more plum and purple looks for fall. You seriously can't go wrong with this, because it's only $5! The shadows are creamy, pigmented, and last all day. Love, love, looooooooooove.

6. L'OREAL TRUE MATCH SUPER BLENDABLE BLUSH - SPICED PLUM
I gotta be honest here. I don't own any drugstore blushes. I was looking for a plum blush, because burgundy and plum is totally in this fall. I picked this up because of how it is formulated to match my skin tone. I like how you get a ton of product for the price. It's sleek packaging and sturdy. The blush goes on beautifully but the staying power isn't amazing. But to be fair, a lot of blushes fade on me really easily. This is on my favorites list because I really love how it goes on and the color is perfect!

7. NYC SMOOTH SKIN BRONZING FACE POWDER - SUNNY
I am a sucker for a matte bronzer. You have probably heard me time and time again about how I prefer a matte bronzer over a shimmer simply because I feel it warms up the face far better. I find this bronzer to be really similar to Benefit's Hoola, but for $2.99! I have loved using it and the price tag makes it a winner in my book! It is also a favorite among beauty gurus.

There you have it! My September favorites! Now that I'm looking at it - it's mostly drugstore and budget-friendly items! So, that makes it doubly as awesome in my opinion. I guess I haven't been stepping into the high end beauty stores lately, which is fine by me. If something is drugstore/budget and works just as well, I will use it!

What have you been using lately that you love?
Leave me a comment so I can add it to my "to try" list!

Clarisonic: A Repurchase

When it comes to beauty, I am the queen of always trying something new. I am always searching for the even better foundation. The best mascara ever. The holy grail eye cream. My thought is... "Is there something better out there?" Obviously it's because I'm high maintenance.

There is one thing that I have owned that I truly feel that it's the best of its kind. That item is the Clarisonic.

My friends, you may remember this post, in which I ranted and raved about it after owning it for only a month. And perhaps you saw this post, in which I posted a picture of my bare face after using my Clarisonic for 6 months. No small feat. The Clarisonic, is by far, the best investment I've ever made for my beauty routine. Read the above linked posts on why.

I am convinced there is nothing just as good as this, and I don't want to waste money trying out dupes and trying to figure out what the best dupe is. Unless anyone wants to send me a plethora of face brushes to try. Until then, I am going to stand firm on my belief. Clarisonic = skin care brush god.

Dare I say..... holy grail.

However...

Unfortunately, my Clarisonic died.

I wish I would have never had to type those words, but alas, it is true. Unfortunately, it stopped working right after my one year warranty was up. I could have punched something. It just stopped charging and turning on and off. I tried charging it for days with no success. Sad day.

And, friends. Remember how I told you how much I love this brush? I love it so much I bought it again.

Yep. I love it that much.

Fortunately, I've got SkinCareRx on my side and is a new sponsor of my blog. So naturally, I'm going through them for my repurchase. If you're on the fence on whether you should get one or not, I highly encourage you to grab your Clarisonic over at SkinCareRx!

Have you repurchased something you consider a beauty investment? Do tell! I need to know about all of your holy grail products!

This post is sponsored by SkinCareRx, but opinions are my own. Like, for realz. I seriously just bought another one.
