Beauty and Fashion Essentials for Wedding Season

We are in the swing of wedding season! While I can’t say that we’re going to as many weddings as we used to, now that we’re older, we do have a lot of weddings to go to this year. Greg has a really large family, and we seem to have at least one to attend every other year or so. These family weddings tend to be mini family reunions, as well. It’s hard to get so many family members together from all across the country, so we cherish these times!

A few weeks ago, we flew to Tennessee and attended our first out of three weddings for this year. It was a blast. So good to see family and celebrate such a happy time.

We had two kids in tow and the time to get ready wasn’t exactly luxurious. However, I have some beauty and fashion essentials that I know I can pull out and have it be perfect for wedding season.

Beauty Essentials:

A Warm Smoky Eye. I love pulling out a favorite eyeshadow palette and and wearing a warm smoky eye. I feel like it complements my blue eyes and is my “power” eye look. I can create this eye look quickly and know it will look good with whatever I am wearing.

Statement Lipstick. Wearing a blue-toned red or hot pink lipstick makes me feel glamorous. I especially love going for a matte liquid lipstick to stay melt proof.

Falsies. I love false eyelashes. They instantly glam up any makeup look. Sometimes, I’ll even cut falsies in half to give a subtle look.

My signature scent. I love anything that smells deep and almost manly, or scents that are citrus-y. Gotta smell good, especially if the wedding is outside!

The perfect dress. No way am I going to overshadow the bride, but finding a dress that makes me feel confident is a must have. We take so many family pictures and are photographed a lot when we go to weddings, and it’s totally okay to want to look my best! I found this gorgeous dress at Dillard’s (on sale, no less!) and it seriously is the best dress to wear to a wedding. Perfect length, perfect silhouette, perfect fit. YES.

The next two weddings we’re going to are in the fall, and I’m going to have fun looking for a perfect dress for them! And, of course, my feet will always be soft and ready for hours of dancing, thanks to Amopé™!
