One thing I see and hear a lot is “invest in your skincare.” While I agree that it’s important to invest your time into researching and looking for potent ingredients that are proven to help skin, I don’t necessarily think that you need to invest your money. It seems as though many cosmetics companies are telling us that the higher the price tag, the better the product. This simply is not true, and I’ve been sharing these skincare tips for years. My dermatologist even confirmed this for me. You may like the way your $200 moisturizer applies and feels, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it is better.
I know it is incredibly overwhelming when you’re shopping for skincare. I also know that women end up feeling even more confused and oversold when they visit a store or luxury counter. The important thing here is to do your research on the best skincare tips, look at ingredients, and compare them to other products.
Many of my friends, family members, and blog readers tell me that they not only want to save money but they also do not want to use lots of products in their routine. Simplicity is important to a lot of women and finding a product that “does it all” is ideal.
I think I have found a product that meets all of those needs!
I recently had the opportunity to try out Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, and I was immediately intrigued because of a Good Housekeeping Institue study that backs up this product. This study tested the Olay Micro-Sculpting Cream against 10 prestige creams that are priced all the way up to $440. The Good Housekeeping Institute’s Beauty Lab conducted clinical and blinded consumer studies. This cream moisturized 400% better than the $440 cream and all others tested. Olay increased moisture by 50% on average over a 24-hour period. 80% of the consumers preferred the Olay, reporting that it felt rich without being heavy. And if those weren’t enough impressive statistics, Olay improved skin’s texture by 10% in four weeks.
My interest immediately piqued.
I am a sucker for all things beauty products and skincare tips, and I typically like to layer a lot of products on in my skincare routine. However, I whittled down everything and committed to using this product day and night for two weeks. In fact, I even brought it with me on my vacation to the Pacific Northwest. I have to say, I did love not having to pack a lot of products!
This cream feels very expensive and I would have never guessed it’s affordable price tag if I didn’t know any better. I love the texture of it – I definitely agree that it feels “rich” without being heavy. It is fragrance-free, which I appreciate (there is a scented version, as well), and can be used day and night. Some of the powerful ingredients it contains are:
- Hyaluronic Acid (a must for me!)
- Amino-Peptides
- Niacinamide (Vitamin B)
- Carob Seed Extract (aids in skin repair and regeneration)
- Panthenol
- Vitamin E
- Olivem (derivative of olive oil, increases the penetration of ingredients into the skin)
- Glycerin (amazing humectant for skin)
Nothing in the ingredient list concerns me.
What about the “instant” results it claims? I took a before and after photo 30 minutes apart. I have not retouched my face with photo editing software. To me, the after photo seems more plump and luminous. I know it’s very slight, because no one can get a miracle in thirty minutes, but I am extremely impressed!
One thing I particularly love about the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is that it’s an amazing hydrating base for makeup. I found myself using less primer, and my makeup applies very smoothly.
I’m really happy to have found an affordable moisturizer that not only has great anti-aging benefits, but is a moisturizing and plumping powerhouse.
Cheers to saving on skincare and looking amazing while doing it!

I Love all of Olay products. Olay is the only products I use on my 54 year old face. My pores have faded. My skin feels soft. Stop! Spending a lot of money. Olay products aren’t cheap, but you don’t have to go broke to get great results. I usually order from their website. I’m a club member and I received 30% of as a member
