24 Day Challenge Results
I started the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge about a month ago and since I have completed it, I haven’t shared my results or experience with you yet!
Since the cleanse finished, I moved on to the max phase. The max phase included drinking Spark, drinking the Meal Replacement Shake for breakfast (it was really filling), taking the MNS Max C supplements, eating healthy and exercising.
I’ll be honest. I was starting to feel a little down because I had lost 4.6 pounds after the 10 day cleanse portion of the challenge and I was either gaining or not losing any more for the rest of the challenge. I didn’t know what I was doing wrong, especially since I was eating 1200-1400 calories a day, eating clean, and working out 5-6 times each week.
The reality is that I was gaining some serious muscle. Let’s take a look, shall we? Let me also preface this by saying that Greg is not the most cooperative picture taker (one more reason why I can’t be a fashion blogger), so the “after” picture was taken by setting my camera on a timer (why I hadn’t thought of using my remote I’ll never know). I wish I had identical poses so you can get a better idea, but I think you can see what I’m about to talk about.
Yes, I only lost .6 lbs more in the following two weeks, but I ended up losing another 2 inches. The crazy part of this all is I lost the most amount of inches in my hips and thighs (thank you C25K!). I think you can also really see the muscle definition starting to form in my abs in the after picture, and my hips and thighs definitely look smaller. See, although I am still 2 lbs up from my pre-pregnancy weight, my hips and thighs are smaller than my pre-pregnancy size!
Losing 5 pounds and 5 inches is absolutely great results for someone who didn’t have that much to lose. I think the challenge really set me up to be really serious about portion control (because self-control can be an issue for me… I mean, if you give me a cupcake, or 10, I will eat them). The challenge really got me into a routine. It got me to think about making the right choices all the time. I am very pleased with my results! And guess what? I’m not drinking diet coke or coffee anymore. I don’t even crave it! Spark is magic.
What about currently and beyond?
I am currently on week 6 of Couch 2 5K and I have been mixing it with my usual Jillian Michaels. I got an iPad for my birthday, so I have been mixing in some awesome videos I found on YouTube. This one is a great 10 minute add on (I burned 100 calories doing it!), and I like the FitnessBlender HIIT 30 minute workouts. Now that summer officially starts today (yay!), I will be reactivating my gym membership and bringing Kennedy with me in the mornings. I plan on doing Zumba, Spin, and adding in a lot more weight training. I am a beast during the summer and I can’t wait to see where I’ll be in another month! Thanks to this challenge, it really set me on the right foot to success!
