If you’re looking for an effective anti-aging skincare routine but don’t want to spend a lot of money, I’ve got you covered! In today’s blog post and video, we’re going over the best affordable skincare.
I’ve got a whole routine in this post! I tried to keep this as minimal as possible with as few extras as possible. I do have some bonus items at the end, but I am not mentioning any masks or tools in this post (mostly so I can keep this as minimal as possible)!
The Best Affordable Skincare – Anti-Aging & Effective
I hope this video was helpful in describing the products and giving you an in-depth look!
Affordable Skincare Routine
Now let’s take a look at each of the products I have mentioned in the video.
– Finding an affordable cleansing balm has been a little bit of a challenge for me, but I am hugely impressed by this one! It reminds me a lot of the the , but for only $10! I am a huge advocate for double cleansing, and I always always always use a cleansing balm before going in with my foaming cleanser.
CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser – This is truly one of my favorite cleansers I’ve ever found! It does an amazing job of removing dirt, excess oil, and makeup, but is not stripping to the skin at all. I find that it will work wonderfully for most skin types. I bought the large bottle of it in February and I’m still using it! I only need one pump to get my entire face clean.
– I use hyaluronic acid serum both morning and night. It helps keep the skin hydrated without heavy oils or creams. I love the Ordinary as an affordable brand. Another option I mentioned in the video is the Advanced Clinicals Hyaluronic Acid serum (use code MEGO30 for 30% off your purchase).
Curology Custom Formula – I am a BIG believer in tretinoin/retinoids. I think that everyone needs to be using one in their anti-aging skincare routine. To be quite honest, it’s not even worth bothering with over the counter retinols. Give me the big guns and prescription grade ones. This is why I constantly recommend Curology! It is a custom formula where they will put in your tretinoin mixed with other active ingredients based on your needs. It is more affordable than getting a prescription from your dermatologist, but still incredibly high quality.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Moisturizer (Extra Dry Fragrance-Free) – This is a very simple moisturizer but absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the extra dry fragrance-free version no matter what your skin type is. It is lightweight, hydrating, and can be used both day and night. It doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles as other moisturizers do, but I prefer my moisturizer to be simple and hydrating.
CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen – I’m so impressed with this mineral sunscreen. It has a slight tint to it, but it will work for most skin tones. The tint is there mostly so you can avoid the white cast that lots of mineral sunscreens may give. While you can wear this with a little concealer on a light makeup day, I wear it most of the time under makeup just fine.
– This is my favorite facial oil of all time! It’s lightweight but super hydrating. I even use it under the eyes in place of eye cream (as you may notice – there’s no eye cream in this post). Some facial oils can break me out (particularly rosehip seed oil), but this one does not. It absorbs nicely but works amazing to hydrate the skin.
CeraVe Healing Ointment – This product is a work horse product that everyone needs in their collection! You can use it for so many things. This ointment is basically like Vaseline, but with a few added ingredients like ceramides and hyaluronic acid. This product is meant to be used to lock in other products and provide a bit of a barrier. I use this sparingly under the eyes on top of my oil, on the lips, and even on the hands and cuticles. I always have a tube of this on hand.
Acne Pimple Patches – Such a simple product, but truly the only product I need for breakouts! I find benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid to be too irritating as I get older, but I am extremely happy how these pimple patches knock out a pimple nearly overnight! No other ingredients besides hydrocolloid, which helps suck out gunk. You get a ton of these patches for under $10!
I hope this post was helpful! Let me know if there’s anLike I mentioned, I didn’t really go into masks, gadgets, or tools. I wanted to keep this as simple as possible. I know skincare can be overwhelming and it is my goal to make beauty accessible and attainable.

Love your “get to the subject quick, I. real terms, ingredients, results & inexpensively. In early 70s, recent super stress & “bam” skin broke out with pimples I haven’t seen in years. Skin always received products without a whimper! LOL! Your list of basics got me. Some I already use. Thank you!
