Here are more details on my favorite foundations for mature skin, and all of the links for easy shopping.
Top Luxury Pick for Satin-Matte Coverage:
Tom Ford Traceless Soft Matte Foundation
- Coverage: Medium-Full
- Finish: Satin-Matte
- Best For: All Skin Types
- Shade Range: 40 shades
There is no way I’d do an entire post and video on foundations without mentioning my true love. I tried this foundation because TikTok told me to, and I am continually blown away by it. It truly looks like an Instagram filter! I didn’t talk about this one too much in the video, but I had to at least mention it. I know you’re probably sick of me talking about it, but it truly is one of my absolute favorite foundation formulas. A little goes a long way, it has a nice liquidy consistency that blends out like a dream. It has medium buildable coverage, it looks like skin. It’s advertised as a matte finish but to me, it has a really natural finish. The shade 3.7 is a perfect match for me. It covers imperfections while also feeling incredibly lightweight. I know this product is a splurge, but luckily Sephora has an amazing return policy if you do not end up loving it. Just promise me you give it a try! Lol.
Top Luxury Pick for Medium Coverage with a Natural Finish:
Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
- Coverage: Medium
- Finish: Natural
- Best For: All Skin Types (not if you’re super oily)
- Shade Range: 40 shades
The Armani Luminous Silk Foundation looks great on just about everyone, and all ages. I feel like every celebrity makeup artist loves this product and keeps it in their kit, and for good reason. It’s a very versatile and simply gorgeous foundation. It reminds me a lot of the Tom Ford, with a slightly less matte finish. This foundation is spendy, but a good option for those who want something that’s going to work with nearly every makeup look they want to do. I find that I can sheer this product out for light coverage, but it’s also a solid medium coverage. The texture is liquidy (I really dislike a thick foundation), and gives a flawless finish. LOVE it!
Top Drugstore Pick for Medium Coverage and a Natural Finish:
L’Oreal True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum Foundation
- Coverage: Light-Medium
- Finish: Natural
- Best For: All Skin Types
- Shade Range: 14 shades
If you want to find something similar to the Armani Luminous Silk but at the drugstore, try this foundation! Everyone says this is an Armani Luminous Silk dupe, but I think it’s slightly different. I absolutely hate the dropper applicator, but the light formula is great. I find that the coverage on this foundation is slightly lighter than the Armani, but the natural finish is beautiful. This is such a good choice for those who want a flexible foundation that gives a beautiful, natural look.
Top High End Pick for Medium Buildable Coverage with a Natural Radiant Finish:
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation + Skincare
- Coverage: Medium Buildable
- Finish: Natural-Radiant
- Best For: All Skin Types
- Shade Range: 25 shades
This is another foundation that gives Armani Luminous Silk vibes. I feel like no one talks about how great this product is! When someone asks for a foundation recommendation for something to give medium buildable coverage, a really natural finish, and that looks flawless – I always recommend this one! I feel like it’ll work for nearly everyone, especially mature skin types. It Cosmetics always formulates their products with great ingredients. As an added bonus for this foundation, there are also skin-plumping ingredients and skincare benefits. I can’t speak to the skincare benefits as I am constantly bouncing around my foundation collection, but I feel like that is important to people.
Top Drugstore Pick for a Lightweight Skin Tint:
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation + Skincare
- Coverage: Light
- Finish: Natural
- Best For: All Skin Types
- Shade Range: 10 shades
This is such an underrated product! This tint is lighter than a tinted moisturizer/cc cream/ bb cream. It’s not very emollient and greasy, but it’s extremely hydrating because it is formulated with hyaluronic acid. The coverage level is very light, and I love the doe foot applicator. So easy to apply and run out the door. Great for minimal makeup days. It’s so fantastic!
Top High End Pick for a Medium Coverage Glowy Foundation:
Nars Light Reflecting Advanced Skincare Foundation
- Coverage: Medium
- Finish: Glowy
- Best For: All Skin Types
- Shade Range: 36 shades
If you’re looking for a medium coverage foundation with a luminous finish, look no further. This one looks absolutely beautiful and glowy without feeling greasy. It wears incredibly well for being a “glowy” foundation. You can sheer this out so it’ll give lighter coverage, or you can build it up. It doesn’t quite get to full coverage, but it really does a great job of masking uneven skin tone. This new foundation from Nars is simply gorgeous and formulated with skincare ingredients. I find that this one looks the best when you ensure to wear a hydrating primer or absolutely do not skip on your skin prep.
Top Drugstore Pick for a Medium-Full Coverage Foundation:
L’Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation
- Coverage: Medium-Full
- Finish: Satin
- Best For: All Skin Types
- Shade Range: 30 shades
This foundation always impresses me! It’s a lightweight liquid formula but can be built up to full coverage. It does not settle into fine lines, does a great job at blurring, but also somehow looks healthy and natural. Best of all, it wears so well. I wore this pregnant in Disney World and it did not move. I also love the shade range – 30 shades for a drugstore foundation is amazing! Great option from the drugstore – do not skip!
Top High End Pick for a Serum Skin Tint:

Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint
- Coverage: Light-Medium
- Finish: Dewy
- Best For: Normal to Dry
- Shade Range: 18 shades
When I initially tested this skin tint, I did not expect to love it as much as I did. It’s got a very emollient formula, so I’m not 100% sure how this would do on very oily skin, but it’s so healthy looking! Gives a light-medium coverage with a dewy finish. This wears really well on me if I powder it, which was a bit of a surprise. I also love how this is easy to blend in with your fingertips, has an SPF 40 (I always use additional SPF to ensure proper coverage), and is a very effortless skin tint. This is a great choice for those who want something very easy to apply.
Top Drugstore Pick for a Tinted Hydrator:
Wet ‘n Wild Bare Focus Tinted Hydrator
- Coverage: Light
- Finish: Dewy-Natural
- Best For: All Skin Types
- Shade Range: 10 shades
I call this stuff my $5 magic in a bottle. I have no idea what makes this product so special, but it always makes my skin look amazing and lasts really well on me. Gives light coverage, but sometimes I swear it can even be built to medium. I just love this tinted moisturizer. Those that have tried this upon my recommendation always have great things to say, and I haven’t heard much negative feedback at all. The only thing that truly irks me is the shade range. It’s really terrible, and can be hard for some people to find a good match. You may have to buy two and mix them. At least you’re only out $10 if if you have to mix? The deeper ones just also don’t go deep enough. Wet ‘n Wild, PLEASE expand this shade range!

Sorry, 35 is not a mature skin. I really wonder what you, young ladies, are trying to achieve here. First, define “mature skin”. Afffff
