DIY All Natural Hot Oil Hair Treatment

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you probably know that Extra Virgin Olive Oil to me is like what Windex is to the guy on My Big, Fat Greek Wedding. I use it as a makeup remover (seriously is the best I have found), a moisturizer, and on my hair. Not to mention I cook with it all the time.

You all have seen hot oil treatments in the store but you probably didn’t know that many of them aren’t that effective and just add weight to your hair. Plus, if you look at the ingredients, it’s a list that’s a mile long with weird, unpronounceable chemicals, and parabens.

Obviously that doesn’t fly for me. If there is a natural way for me to treat my hair or skin, you bet your pretty toosh I am doing that. Plus, I had all these ingredients in my pantry.

HOT OIL HAIR TREATMENT

To use olive oil by itself as a hot oil hair treatment is amazing on its own, but I like amping it up with some organic coconut oil (one of the most amazing oils out there full of moisturizing properties) and local honey. (Did you know honey helps attract and retain moisture in hair? Who knew?!)

All I do is dump it all into a little ramekin (specific measurements aren’t necessary – do what the spirit moves you to), pop it into the microwave for about 15 seconds (depends on your microwave – watch it to make sure it doesn’t get too hot), mix it up, and brush it all over my dry hair with a pastry brush, focusing on my ends.

I then put a shower cap on my head to let the oils and honey really do their magic. You can also wrap your head in plastic wrap. Just as effective and twice as sexy. I leave it on for as long as I can. I usually do this right after Kennedy goes down and then wash it out in the shower a few hours later. I feel like this doesn’t take much time out of my evening, and I don’t mind sitting around the house blogging or watching TV with the oils on my head. Some people swear by doing this hot oil hair treatment overnight and showering in the morning, but I have yet to try it.

I know that the shower cap look is extremely sexy on me.

I recommend doing this once every couple weeks or so. I truly think this really improves my hair’s texture. It is also much shinier and stronger after these treatments. And it’s cheap. So do it.

Thanks for this very good hair treatment. I always used and recommended a simple hair treatment. Its almost the same like your treatment but it has egg and yogurt instead of olive oil. The results of my treatment are very good. Now i,m thinking of creating a new hair treatment by mixing your treatment and mine. Lets do it and see the results.

I use the store version at my local grocery store. As long as you have extra virgin coconut oil, you’re good! It usually comes in a clear jar and is in somewhat of a solid form. It melts at a relatively low temp!

ive been having so much trouble with my hair!! It gets colored once a month auburn to get the gray out. Plus thyroid issues, hormones leaves my hair dry and dull, plus I feel it’s a lot thinner than it used to be! My hair is around the end of shoulder blades and it could probably use a trim. I will try the olive oil and coconut oil next! Hopefully I won’t use too much!

I used this tonight. I ha e terribly frizzy hair and I seriously have tried everything. Leave in conditioners, professional conditioning treatments, argan oil, redken, loreal, aussie, tresseme, spray on coconut oil, avacado trestments, mayo treatments, hot oil over the counter. Literally nothing works. I tried this tonight and left it in my hair for almost 3 hours. AND NOTHING. I guess I am meant to be bald because I completely give up in my hair. Very depressed after this treatment. My hair actually felt WORSE which doesn’t make sense at all. Idk what else to do but this treatment did not make the slightest difference.

Have you ever tried switching to an all natural shampoo and conditioner? I have read stories of people with similar problems as you who tried cutting out the commercial shampoos and somehow miracles happened. I would suggest the Calia brand. It’s based in Canada and all the reviewers with curly hair were shouting praises. It’s also been working pretty well for my fine hair! 🙂 Good luck!

Now that guess what happens Provillus is, and that there are no known unwanted effects, the next thing is to really get your practical some. It should be observed that it could be hard to find when you go shopping to get Provillus. But you can always think it is online. Simply do an search on the internet, purchase this miracle hair loss product, and lastly do something positive about your hair loss forever.

I started using oil treatments in my hair about a year ago when my stylist used one on my hair. I love the Somaluxe Argan Oil! It makes my hair super shiny and brings out my highlights and lowlights big time.

The smell seems to last the whole day through too! Secondly, it contains my frizz in a big way which is nice because I heat style my hair and dye it and it was already frizzy to begin with before I started doing all that stuff.
