Updated September 7, 2017
We’re into September, and while the weather is still hot and humid here in Houston, our hearts are longing for all things fall. Okay, we don’t actually have a fall season, but we pretend that we do. Out of all the seasonal makeup trends, fall makeup is my favorite. I love the bold looks, smokey eyes, cranberry eyeshadow, vampy nails, and we can’t forget the deep dark lip colors.
If you’re looking to expand your collection with some fall makeup essentials, I’ve put together a list of some new releases and old faithfuls that I’m certain you’ll want to get your hands on!
Fall Makeup Essentials
New Releases I’ve Got Heart Eyes For
I get so excited for fall beauty releases, and I can’t wait to get my hands on these beauties!
Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette // This launches September 18 (so no shoppable link unfortunately), and I’ve got my eyes on it. I love the idea of adding more purple tones in for my eyeshadow looks!
Too Faced Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette // The combination of warm and purple tones are just perfect for fall. I can’t wait to get my hands on this!
Ciate London Glitter Flip // The internet has been going crazy for this liquid lipstick! It applies matte, but when you rub your lips together, it magically turns glittery. NEED!
I typically like to switch to a more hydrating and full coverage foundation when the temperatures get cooler. Humidity never leaves Houston, but it’s definitely an opportunity to wear my favorite foundations that would normally slide off my face. However, I must say that neither of these slide off my face in the heat, but they are more of a hydrating formula and if you have dry skin, I think you would love these!
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Lines Foundation // This is a new launch from It Cosmetics, and I have been loving trying it out. It has a really blendable consistency that you can build up. It looks flawless!
Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation Stick // One of my holy grail foundations, and I love that this one can be built up as well. I love wearing this in the fall and winter months.
Warm, Berry Toned, and Metallic Eyeshadow
Fall is the time to really amp up the warm, berry toned and metallic eyeshadow. Glitter is also on trend (when is it not?), and I live for those gorgeous dramatic looks!
Morphe 35F Eyeshadow Palette // This is pretty much the “epitome of fall” eyeshadow palette. It’s got a great combination of metallics, berry tones, purples, and warm tones. I LOVE it!
Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette // I know this was a summer launch palette but I really feel like these super warm tones are going to transition into fall so beautifully. I think using this palette in combination with a super dark vampy lip would be stunning!
Milani Earthy Elements Eyeshadow Palette // This is a beautiful drugstore eyeshadow palette for fall! Gives you the warm tones you need for a beautiful eye look.
Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow // I have the shade Kitten Karma, and it’s the perfect rose gold, but I need Smoky Storm in my hands for fall looks! Glitter is always on trend.
I get excited to bust out my dark, bold, vampy lip colors when fall rolls around. I live for the berry tones, oxbloods, and deep reds.
MAC Lipstick in Rebel // Pretty sure you aren’t a true fall makeup lover unless you own MAC Rebel. It’s the perfect fall purple that can be worn sheered out or built up.
Rimmel Provocalips 16 Hour Kiss Proof Lip Color in Play With Fire // This is one of the longest lasting lipstick formulas I’ve ever tried, and this shade is a beautiful deep red!
Sephora Cream Lip Stain in #14 Blackberry Sorbet // The perfect blackberry matte liquid lipstick. This is very deep and intense, but gorgeous!
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry // This is a cult favorite drugstore lipstick for fall! It’s a beautiful deep cherry.
ColourPop Ultra Satin Lippie in London Fog // The perfect deep pink-y red.
For Your Cheeks
I tend to move away from pink-toned blushes to more warm tones and mauves. I also love to incorporate a little more warm/rosy highlighters.
Becca Blush in Blushed Copper // One of the most unique blushes out there, and is just stunning! The copper undertones makes it perfect for fall.
Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl in Ballerina // A beautiful warm rose gold that will complement so many fall looks!
Bold Nail Colors
I love love love the bold nail colors that come with fall and winter! For some reason, I just love Essie’s selection of fall colors and always gravitate towards them!
Essie Nail Polish After School Boy Blazer // Beautiful deep navy. So flattering on everyone!
Essie Nail Polish in Wicked // Almost black, but totally not. I can’t quite pull of black nail polish, so this is a great alternative!
Essie Nail Polish in Carry On // Absolutely love this deep berry/oxblood.
Essie Chinchilly // The perfect gray!
Wet ‘n Wild Nail Wonder Gel Polish in Stay Classy // I love this cool toned mauve!
