Funny story: I just started using dark green mascara … so now my dark undereye circles have a hint of green to them!! Makeup remover just won’t get it all. How awful!! These tips were SO helpful!

New and late to the ballgame on all this color correcting and contouring business! So this may seem like a totally silly question – do you do all of your foundation and contouring first and then do your under eyes? I know in the video you mentioned you touched up some highlighting at the end, but wondering if that’s how you do it every time 🙂 ? Love your videos btw! So helpful!! My Sephora/Ulta list has grown….my poor husband and bank account lol.

I am using the NYX correcteur in fair, and a concealer in fair, but my undereye circles are still visible. I think I’m using wrong shade. Should I be using something with more peachy undertones? I’m half-Asian, and my skin is light with slight olive undertones.

NEW Makeup by Mario Foundation Wear Test + First I NEW Makeup by Mario Foundation Wear Test + First Impressions 🤔

The internet is losing their mind over this brand new foundation launch! I’m a huge fan of Mario, and this seemed super promising! The foundation claims to be:

“A breathable, luminous foundation that effortlessly builds and blends to illuminate the complexion with customizable, long-wearing coverage.”

SOME OTHER SPECS:
‣ Comes in 30 shades
‣ Vegan, gluten-free, and cruelty-free
‣ Formulated with Grapeseed Oil and Vegetal Squalane

I grabbed this in shade 5N and it is really YELLOW, despite it being a “neutral” shade. It seemed to tone down a bit, but not completely. I don’t mind a warm-toned foundation to cancel out redness. I noticed that it immediately emphasized texture and was settling into pores (note: I did my usual skin prep and waited 30 minutes to apply, and I did not use a primer). Despite that, it really was a beautiful glowy finish.

It never dried down, so this is something I’d definitely need to set with powder. It doesn’t feel all that lightweight, either. I went and applied the rest of my makeup (using tried and true stuff - nothing new), and it seemed to look really great in person.

I think looking back at this video footage, my face seems a bit more textured than it normally does. Something is just off. Am I seeing things, or do you see it too?

So… I wasn’t crazy about it at first, then I thought my makeup looked great, then I wasn’t so sure. Lol.

I wouldn’t call this a very long wearing foundation, either. I wasn’t doing anything particularly strenuous and it looked really patchy on the lower half of my face at the end of the day.

BOTTOM LINE:
This is a puzzling one! I honestly don’t know how I feel about it. I’m going to keep playing with it and update as I use it longer. I think if you have absolutely perfect skin with no texture and aren’t dry or oily, you’ll like it.

Not sure if this wear test actually helped anyone, but there ya go. LOL.

Unpopular opinion: hair extensions have HELPED my Unpopular opinion: hair extensions have HELPED my natural hair! I experienced a lot of breakage in 2021 and I’m still trying to recover from it. It’s a long process that doesn’t heal itself overnight. If anyone’s been down this road before, you know it can take years to get your hair health in tip top shape.

@siyanscott at @extendhouston gave me the hair of my dreams but also helped me rehabilitate the breakage I was experiencing. We minimized the amount of bleach that goes in my hair (most of the blonde is in the extensions), I only color my hair 3 times a year, I reduced the use of hot tools, and I am gentle and particular with maintenance at home.

Hair health is the most important thing for me in this journey and I’m so glad to have found Siyan and her extension method. Today was a color refresh and extension move up day, and I’m good to go for the next few months! 🤩

Supergoop Glowscreen DUPE?! Let’s test it out! ☀️

e.l.f. just released the Suntouchable Whoa Glow, and I think they knew exactly what they were trying to do here. It retails for $14 and is described as “A lightweight, broad-spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen that doubles as a makeup primer and leaves skin with a glowing radiance.”

Hmm, funny. The Supergoop Glowscreen is also marketed as a glowy SPF primer. For $38.

☀️Differences between the two products:
▪️Glowscreen is SPF 40, and e.l.f. is SPF 30
▪️ The inactive ingredients are different
▪️ Glowscreen has Avobenzone – Avobenzone 3%, Homosalate 4%, Octisalate 5%, Octocrylene 8%
▪️ e.lf. has Avobenzone 3.0% Homosalate 9.0% Octisalate 5.0% Octocrylene 7.0%
▪️ Textures of the product are different. e.l.f. is thicker in consistency but also has less of a slip. If you’re pretty oily, you may enjoy this consistency better.
▪️Glowscreen is peachier and a tad darker in tone, while the e.l.f. is lighter and more champagne.
▪️ Glowscreen comes in two different shades, while the e.l.f. only has one. I’m curious to see how the e.l.f. shade blends out on darker skin tones.

☀️ Similarities between the two products:
▪️Both are cruelty-free and vegan
▪️They are both formulated with the same chemical UV filters, but the percentages differ
▪️The glow these products give on the skin are very similar. I think Glowscreen is slightly more reflective, but I’d still say this is a decent alternative if you want a similar effect.

👉🏻 IS IT A DUPE, THO? I’d say while it’s not an exact dupe, it’s a really great affordable alternative. If you want a glowy sunscreen to wear alone or under makeup and want to save $24, give the e.l.f. a try! It’s really pretty!
