Preggo Meg O. – 38 Weeks!

Everyone… we are 11 DAYS from this baby’s birthday!

baby 2 38 weeks
Looking a little bit of the same. I feel like my face is starting to puff out a little, but my weight has stayed the same. Here I am 38 weeks pregnant with Kennedy, for reference.

Thoughts This Week:

  • Made it to the gym four times this week. I swear I am so not hardcore there. It’s the stationary bike and the treadmill for me. Better than walking outside and Kennedy gets to have her play time, too.
  • Having a lot of sciatic numbness in my right leg, especially if I stand up and start moving too fast.
  • I mentioned before that our scheduled c-section date is Tuesday, August 19. We were originally scheduled at 10:00 a.m., but got moved up to 6:30 a.m. Meaning we have to get there at 4:30 a.m. Ay yi yi.
  • We’ve brought the bassinet, rock and play, pack and play, and other newborn essentials downstairs and started setting them up. All of Kennedy’s old clothes from newborn to 12 months have been brought out and set into nursery #2.
  • We’ve also done a bit of organization throughout the house. The pantry, the junk drawers, etc. I’ve been nesting, for sure.
  • The nursery is very, very close to being finished! Crazy, because I felt like it would never get there.
  • I haven’t really felt any contractions (I don’t think) or have been in pain. Just uncomfortable at times.
  • This pregnancy has been really easy, and the end of it has felt much like my pregnancy with Kennedy. I really don’t think I’ll go into labor early. But now that I’ve said that I may have jinxed myself.
  • This is my second to last bump update. So crazy. So, so crazy.

Mamas who have had scheduled c-sections, I am curious as to whether or not you had a birth plan and what you requested. Is there anything I need to know or plan for going into it? I haven’t really thought much about it.

Happy Friday, friends!

You should probably just sleep all day on the 18, stay up that night, and then go in. I mean, if that’s AT ALL doable.

I wish that were do-able!! Having a 2.5 year old prevents things like that. Haha! Luckily my in-laws will be here on the 18th so hopefully we can at least go to bed early!

Thank you so much, friend!! I can’t wait to meet her, too! I gotta admit, I’m kind of nervous about being a mom of two, but I did it before, so who says I can’t do it again!?

I had a scheduled C-Section. The only birth plan I had was I asked them to bring the baby to me as soon as possible and I stressed that I didn’t want her to have anything but breast milk.

Can’t wait to see how it goes!

Thank you for your comment!! I am definitely going to stress me being able to hold her as soon as possible. Last time, my hospital was awesome with letting me try and breastfeed right away. It didn’t go very well but they never pushed me to bottle feed. She got it later that day and had no problems our entire bf journey. I hope this next one will be as easy!!

I had a second scheduled c-section and let me tell you how prepared my body was! Much easier the second time around…even with a 22 month old at home. Recovery was much quicker and less painful. Don’t be scared!
My only request was to have my catheter put in after my spinal/epidural. Turns out it was their order of operation anyway, but it was one of fears.
Yay for 38 weeks and being so close. Babies are amazing and so sweet! Can’t wait to see the update and pictures!

So good to hear that the second c-section went way better for you. Last time I recovered from a 24-hour labor and a c-section, so anything is probably going to seem like a breeze! I hope all the working out and trying to stay healthy will help, as well. Last time was just a painful recovery for me. Good reminder about the catheter… I’m pretty sure mine will be after the epidural, but good to think about.

OMG so close!!!! I can’t wait to see your pictures if her!!! So Finn was an emergency c section and I had a very very rough time with that c section and recovery… So then Clyde was scheduled and he came a month early so I barely made it to the hospital, eek! Also due to different reasons I wasn’t able to nurse either of them for their first meal… This time I was hoping for a drama free c section, And it totally was! I was able to go get prepped, and I even walked into the OR! It was so easy breezy I was fine the whole time, it was a little strange not having the endorphins of labor but it was so stress free the drs and nurses were just casually chatting with us haha! Then she was there and I went to recovery and they kept her with me the whole time and 30 mins later I was able to nurse 🙂 also I can’t get over how easy this recovery was!!! Bryan didn’t stay with me cause he was at home with the boys and I was able to sit up and get the baby myself in the hospital for day 1! I was up and walking around the next day and I was never that sore! You will do great especially since u have been working out! I was on a modified “bed rest” at the end to make sure she didn’t come early like Clyde so I was just sitting around at the end haha

I’m so happy to hear that you had a drama free c-section and recovery has been super easy. I am hoping and praying that mine is very similar!! I really am not showing any signs of labor and I’m not trying to bring it on whatsoever! My last work out was last week and I decided this week I would take it easy so I wouldn’t put myself into labor. I’m just wanting to show up on Tuesday and have a baby. Haha. But yeah, I really hope my experience will be much like yours!!

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I have been worki I mentioned a few weeks ago that I have been working on restoring the after affects of my postpartum hair loss. I’ve been using @bondiboost supplements and products to regrow, nourish, and prevent further loss. One product I’ve been taking is the Anti Hair-Loss Supplement, which is perfect for anyone suffering from thinning hair and noticeable hair fall. It’s formulated with Biota Orientalis, which is an herb traditionally used in Chinese medicine to reduce hair loss and thinning. Plus, they’re vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, FDA approved, and made in Australia. In the month I’ve been taking this supplement, I’ve noticed less hair shedding in the shower and when brushing my hair. I can’t wait to see what continued use will do for my hair! Who has done an excessive amount of hand washing a Who has done an excessive amount of hand washing and hand sanitizing this past year? 🙋🏼‍♀️ That would be all of us. 😅 #DovePartner I know your hands are probably dry and angry and the rest of your body could use some moisture during the winter months. @krogerco has an amazing selection of personal care and beauty products that can help you be your best self this year. I’ve been loving the new @dove Nourishing Hand Sanitizer - it kills germs and actually feels moisturizing! And, of course, the Deep Moisture Body Wash is an old favorite of mine - great for the winter months or just for all the extra washing we’re having to do right now. How we feel during yet another unprecedented event How we feel during yet another unprecedented event🤪 This Texas winter storm was wild, and completely heartbreaking to witness. It’s been a very hard week, and we are some of the lucky ones! Going without power for 3 days was not fun, but we’re very thankful we do not have any damage or burst pipes.

So many people have quickly responded and been so generous. Neighbors helping each other, kindness from grocery stores and restaurants, and help from people out of state has really made me proud. We will get through this 💪🏻

I’m sharing a bunch of resources in my stories, and I’m saving it all to a “HELP TEXAS” highlight. Feel free to share it or reference it!

I’ve said this many times before, but postpartum I’ve said this many times before, but postpartum hair loss stinks! Even though I’m 1.5 years out from having a baby, I am still experiencing after effects. My hairline is still thin, and I’ve got a lot of baby hairs I’d like to grow faster. To help speed things along, I’m starting a “hair glow up” challenge with @bondiboost products. First product I want to mention is the Hair Growth Support Supplement. This product and their anti hair-loss support supplement are scientifically formulated to promote hair growth and reduce hair loss and thinning. Plus, they’re vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, FDA approved, and made in Australia. The Hair Growth Support Supplement contains awesome ingredients like zinc, silicon, biotin, and ascorbic acid to support the maintenance of healthy hair. If you bleach or color your hair, what are some of If you bleach or color your hair, what are some of the ways you like to keep your hair healthy? Here are some of the things I do:

▪️ Stretch my color sessions every 3-4 months. I know bleach and color services can weaken hair, so I like a lived-in rooted blonde that looks awesome as it grows out.
▪️ Air dry my hair after washing and use hot tools sparingly.
▪️ Use color-safe products at home.
▪️ Most recently, I've started incorporating the new @redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate line.

This new launch from Redken is exciting, as I am a big fan of the brand (I go to a Redken salon and find that their color is the best of all I've tried). The Acidic Bonding Concentrate range is specifically formulated with an acidic pH to defend against the negative effect of hair coloring, styling tools, and even water - to bring hair back into a healthy pH range. In trials, these products were shown to provide a 56% reduction of breakage, 11X smoother hair, 88% reduction of visual split ends, color fade protection, and ultimate conditioning. Say what? Sign me up!

After the short amount of time I've used these products, I've felt that my hair feels stronger, smoother, and less brittle at the ends. I can't wait to see what prolonged use will do! #redkenpartner #redkenready #acidicbondingconcentrate
