Spring Makeup Look – Dewy Skin & Glossy Lips
Spring has almost sprung! I know a lot of you guys have been dealing with ridiculously cold temperatures and are craving all things sun, brighter colors, and warmer temperatures. It has been so rainy down here in Houston, and hasn’t really felt “springy” just yet. I love any excuse to pull out my pastels (blush will be forever my favorite color), searching for spring makeup trends, and coming up with all of the spring makeup ideas.
Today I am getting our makeup routines ready for spring with this dewy spring makeup look. This makeup tutorial is perfect for all skin types, especially those on the oily side. I tend to get a little oily, and I do live in a more humid climate, so I prefer my dewy makeup looks to be long-wearing. Anything that can last through the Houston heat and humidity is a winner in my book.
One of my favorite spring makeup trends for this year is glossy lips. Gloss is back, y’all, and I am totally here for it.
Best of all, every single product I’ve used in this tutorial is available at your local Stage store. I have a Palais Royal just a few minutes away, and I am always impressed by their beauty selection. They carry high-quality brands of all price points, from NYX to Estee Lauder. Every time I step in, I always find something amazing to try. Not to mention, they carry a lot of fashion brands with options for the whole family.
Along with the ability to shop these products at your local Stage store, they are also available online at Stage.com. Let’s get right to the tutorial! I have a video and then I’ve broken it down below with all of the products I used and some still photos. Hope you find it helpful!

Spring Makeup Look Tutorial
First step is always a primer (after my skincare routine, of course). Here I am applying the Estee Lauder The Smoother Universal Perfecting Primer as a base for my makeup, and to also smooth out pores and texture.
To get a long-wearing yet luminous look to the skin, I am mixing the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light with theBalm Mary DewManizer Liquid Highlighter. All of the Double Wear foundations are some of my holy grail products – they truly do wear incredible and last all day long. The “light” foundation is a little bit more of a natural finish, and adding the liquid highlighter in really gives me extra dew. I like to pounce it in with my EcoTools sponge.
To conceal the under eye and for a bit of highlighting, I am using the Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer. I always prefer a full coverage concealer for these areas, but this one is not too matte and not too drying. It really sits well on the skin, has a natural finish, and stays put!
To set all of my makeup in place, I’m lightly dusting the NYX HD Finishing Powder all over the face with the Real Techniques Powder Brush. I want to avoid my base to look too cakey, so I am using a very light hand and applying a very fine translucent powder like this one. Setting my face is essential for it to last all day.
Brows are always important. I am filling mine in with the NYX Micro Brow pencil. I’ve been using this brow pencil for years, and have even named it as a duper to its high end competitors.
I recently picked up the Smashbox Cali Contour palette and it is a new favorite! It’s got a mix of contour/bronzer shades, a blush, and highlighting powders. Perfect for travel and those that like to keep their makeup collections as minimal as possible. I’m using the Real Techniques Sculpting Brush to contour and the Sigma F40 to apply my blush.
I love a good pink metallic foiled eye, and theBalm Meet Matt(e) Shmaker palette is helping me do that. This eye look is very simple – I use the Sigma E40 brush to apply a medium brown into the crease, then I press the pink metallic shade onto my lid with my finger, and define the lower lash line with the Sigma E30 pencil brush. Off camera I applied my favorite false lashes – the Ardell Demi Wispies.
I have been loving glossy lips lately! Luckily, they are so on trend for spring. To help bring the pink look together, I’m using the NYX Lip Liner in Nude Pink to define and sculpt the lips, and the NYX Butter Gloss in Vanilla Cream Pie on top. If you’ve never tried one of the butter glosses, you’re missing out! They’ve been a favorite of mine for at least five years.
Last, but certainly not least, I am giving my skin an extra glow with theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter using the Real Techniques Setting Brush. I have also been using this highlighter for over five years – it’s an oldie but a goodie. I love that blinding champagne highlight.
Here’s the finished look! Glowy, dewy, pink tones, and perfect for spring!
I don’t know about you, but this has got me so excited for spring!
Love this makeup look!
So pretty!
