Summer in Disney World is no joke! It’s hot, humid, and it WILL rain. We just visited in July 2022, and had the best time despite the elements. Because the weather is very hot during summer, I had a very different approach to our summer Disney World outfits.
The Disney Parks in summer months certainly are warm, but I promise you’ll still have a good time! If you focus on clothing pieces made with breathable fabrics (no denim shorts – trust me on this), you will stay as comfortable as you can be. That means a lot of active wear. You can still put together some cute outfits!
I’ve put together all the links from our outfits, along with some inspiration and other items linked!
Summer Disney World Outfit – Classic Minnie & Mickey
Shop These Looks:
Active dresses are all the rage now, and this one is perfect! I’ve tried a lot of them, and this one is my favorite for a few reasons. I love that the shorts underneath are detached, the straps are adjustable, the silhouette isn’t too tight against the body, and the length is not too short.
Paired with these red and white polka dot Minnie ears, white heart sunglasses, and my favorite bulletproof red lipstick (shade: Pioneer), you’re subtly Disney! I also found this belt bag to be extremely helpful in the parks – easy for me to throw a few necessities in it and fit on me as I rode rides. Lastly, don’t forget your comfortable walking shoes!
My girls looked cute and stayed cool in these cute and , and my toddler son matched us in this .
Summer Disney World Outfit – Toy Story Vibes
Shop These Looks:
I have to say – these outfits were my favorite! I was inspired by the colors of Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios. I found this blue athletic set and paired it with a and Toy Story Disney ears. For the girls, they wore yellow and white stripe and these super cute .
The theming here is subtle, yet super cute.
Summer Disney Outfit – Neutrals / Star Wars
Shop These Looks:
The neutral colors in these outfits make it easy to pair with Star Wars ears or other neutral Disney ears. We wore these outfits to Hollywood Studios in the morning and to EPCOT in the evening, just switched out the ears. I absolutely love this active tank top because it has a built in bra with cups! And these active shorts (similar style to what I’m wearing – last year’s version is not available anymore) are breezy and so comfortable.
I brought these walking sandals with me and they are Disney-proof for sure. I highly recommend bringing a pair of comfortable sandals to switch back and forth with your sneakers. This will cool your feet off and give them a break.
I absolutely love these ! They’re so affordable, too. Kept my girls nice and cool all day. They’re mostly out of stock now, but these sets are available and the skirts are so cute!
Summer Disney World Outfit – Tie Dye / Blues
Shop These Looks:
My husband is ruining the aesthetic in the picture on the left (haha), but I put together these tie dye and blue outfits for the kids and myself! It’s summery and will work for any park, especially for EPCOT!
The dress I’m wearing is another active dress. This one has the attached shorts, but I do really like the wider straps. The length is great and isn’t too tight against the body.
I love these I found for the kids. They’re in the boys section, but I honestly think these shirts are very gender neutral. I paired them with these for a cool and comfortable look.
Must-Haves for the Summer Disney Weather
Disney in summer is no joke, but it is warm nearly year round. If you find yourself visiting during the summer months, be prepared! It was actually hotter back home in Texas than it was in Florida when we were there, but we avoid the heat at all costs and stay inside as much as possible. That being said, while it was hot – we still had fun! I would do it again, but I would for sure bring these items again.
We brought neck fans with us, and felt they didn’t really do anything. I would say skip those, and go for the handheld ones I have linked below.
Stroller Fan
We didn’t use this as much because there wasn’t a good place to clip it onto Logan’s stroller. I ended up leaving it behind in the hotel room after the first day. He kept taking it off of the place I clipped it. BUT, I will say if you have a smaller toddler or baby, this is a must. I keep this fan on my Peloton and use it every single time I ride. It’s a powerful fan and the charge lasts me weeks!
Cooling Towel
I did a lot of research on cooling towels, and I’m glad we went with this brand. They’re a little more expensive than other brands, but they really do stay cool. You get them wet under the sink, wring them out, and snap them to activate the cooling. I brought more than we needed. I would say only two are needed, and you can pass them around.
Adult Poncho
It will rain in Disney in the summer. It never rained when we went in February, but it rained nearly every day in July! Luckily the showers don’t last for very long, and you can time it to where you’ll be inside. In the event you get caught in the rain, you’ll want a poncho! They’re more expensive in the parks, so it’s best to bring one with you.
Stroller Rain Cover
This purchase was worth every single penny. One day it started pouring when we were on an indoor ride and we didn’t have the stroller rain cover on. Our stroller was soaked and we had to let it dry on our balcony in the sun. Another park day, we brought this and it kept everything dry, including what we stored in the basket. This stroller cover fits a lot of different brands. Trust me when I say you need this.
Compact Umbrella
Not only is a compact umbrella good for rainy days, they also provide great shade! I used mine while walking through World Showcase in EPCOT (the sun seemed so much stronger to me that day), and it provided a lot of relief from the sun. I would definitely bring umbrellas every time we go!
Korean Sunscreen Stick
This sunscreen stick is my favorite product for reapplying sunscreen to the face, neck, and shoulders. I used this on my kids’ faces too. We had no burns at all the entire trip. It fits easily in your purse and it so easy to apply on the go. I actually lost this stick somewhere in the parks, and I ordered another one. That’s how much I love it. Haha.
Korean Facial Sunscreen
I am currently loving so many Asian sunscreens, and this one is a top favorite! I applied this to my face, neck and shoulders each morning, reapplied sunscreen with the stick, and had zero burns. This is such an incredible formula with zero eye sting. It has newer UV filters that are pretty advanced!
