We’re all guilty of our fair share of beauty blunders. Who hasn’t had a little lipstick on their teeth, overplucked their brows as a teenager, or picked the wrong foundation shade? No one, that’s who.
Being a beauty blogger puts the pressure on just a little bit more. I’m supposed to be setting an example for the “regular folk” – and be flawless 100% of my life. In reality, it’s about 10%. I’ve even been told by friends that they took extra time with their makeup before they hang out with me so I won’t judge them! Haha! It cracks me up because I promise the last thing I’m looking at is how you applied your makeup. Unless you have wonky brows…. because then I will judge you. (Kidding. Sort of.)
I wish you could see all of the fails that happen in my life on a daily basis. As an attempt to make you feel better about your beauty skills, or lack thereof, here are of my greatest beauty blunders. I promise you it’s all smoke and mirrors around here…
Tried new foundations and they’ve slid off my face in three hours. Never a cute look.
Realized I have lipstick on before I brush my teeth. This is such a pain! And yes, I even make this grave mistake more often than I’d like to admit.
Checked my makeup in my car mirror and I look like a completely different person. Natural, harsh light can be a grave reminder of all the hairs I need to pluck, the foundation I should’ve blended, and the bronzer that may be the wrong shade.
Tried to eat a big meal with lots of carbs while wearing a liquid lipstick. It can look like a crime scene. Something about delicious foods makes your once perfect liquid lipstick smear everywhere.
Fought the battle of winged liner. There’s that saying, “Never ask a woman with winged liner why she’s late.” There have been days when winged liner just doesn’t want to cooperate with my eyeballs. It ends tragically.
Filmed an entire YouTube video with lipstick on my teeth… without even noticing. Been there, done that. I still put the video up, because it takes a good 30-45 minutes for just the filming process!
Orange bronzer. Enough said.
Found a toddler covered in red lipstick. I looked away for one minute and she managed to cover herself from head to toe! How in the world she got all the way to my lipstick drawer, drew all over herself and her clothes, and appeared back into my vision is beyond me.
Put on a full face of makeup before a white blouse. Oh what a treacherous feat to have to put on a delicate white blouse after your makeup is on. I have almost ruined shirts simply of this dumb mistake.
Gave a nice hug to the hubby and realized my foundation got all over his shirt. That’s never a cool moment. Half the time he doesn’t notice until he’s taken the shirt off (haha!), but it can be embarrassing on my part because I’m supposed to know what the heck I’m doing with makeup. I told you, it’s all smoke and mirrors.
Whenever our clothes and fabrics have been personally victimized by my beauty blunders, I’ve been reaching for Persil Pro Clean to work magic. And boy, does it ever. Laundry is my least favorite household chore, and I’m sure you can all relate when I say that it is never ending.
Between my shirts with foundation smudges and a the girls’ clothes (especially the red lipstick stained outfit) it used to be a struggle to keep everything truly bright and clean. After I picked up this magical detergent known as Persil Pro Clean, I dread laundry time far less. Persil Pro Clean delivers 10 dimensions of clean, which includes brightening, whitening, odor fighting, and long-lasting freshness.
If you need to rectify a few of your own blunders, grab some Persil Pro Clean for yourself at your nearest Walmart, but before you do, click here to get a $2 off coupon!

haha, love this! I feel the pressure of friends and such always staring at my makeup, too! Sometimes I just want to wear a shirt with a disclaimer that says “pardon me while I test this new makeup”. I am always trying different things and sometimes it’s SO WRONG for me, but I wear it all day to find out! So I might be lookin’ like a hot mess at the end of the day, but hey, not every product is going to work for me! ha! One day over the summer I was trying out a new concealer and I used a different product to set it. We went to a friend’s house and I didn’t know that my face was sliding off like hot lava. I used their bathroom after I was there for a few hours and literally LOL’ed in the bathroom. She probably thinks I’m a fruitcake.
