I am constantly amazed at how blogging has changed my life. It has given me a part-time job, an outlet for creativity, and the chance to form relationships with some of the most amazing people I’ve gotten to know.
I am so thankful for my friends right here in my neighborhood of Houston. We have grown close and can have a ladies’ night, a coffee chat, or a play date at a moment’s notice. One thing I’m also grateful for is the blogger communities online. About a year and a half ago, I got put in a group message with some lovely ladies to chat about blog strategy, and little did I know we would develop some incredibly strong friendships. We can talk about anything, we can even have a difference of opinion, and it never gets catty or disrespectful. We are all so different, but are all incredibly strong women and mothers, and have a passion for our blog businesses.
We decided to plan a fun weekend here in Houston, and it was one of the most fun weekends I’ve had in a long time. Katie and Renee flew in, and I played official tour guide. The Hotel Sorella was our amazing host for the weekend, and it’s the perfect location for hosting out of town guests. Citycentre is such a fun place with so many shopping and dining options, and it feels like a vacation, even for the Houstonian. The Hotel Sorella is extremely comfortable, chic, and my favorite place for a staycation.
We made sure to hit up Target, Sonic, and Chick-fil-A for Renee (our Canadian friend), we lunched with Veronika, grabbed Sprinkles Cupcakes from the Cupcake ATM, amazing coffee from Common Bond, made sure to indulge in some Tex-Mex, and enjoyed an incredible meal at Radio Milano inside the Hotel Sorella. Food was definitely an intergral part of this trip. No regrets.
Brittany and Elly joined us Saturday and we got the most amazing blow outs at Blow Dry Bar.
After getting all dolled up in one of the penthouses at the Hotel Sorella, we had Julia come join us for some fun photos. The weekend wouldn’t be complete without some great photos (#bloggerlife) and these robes from Pink Blush. 3 out of 5 of us are pregnant (I am not in that majority), and while these robes are technically maternity robes, I have no shame because they are quite literally the most gorgeous robes ever!
That night we enjoyed an amazing evening at Brittany’s blog anniversary party.
After the party, we enjoyed lounging back in our robes for a slumber party. It included scary sheet face masks, lots of laughing, and lots of leftover food. I feel like all we did was laugh. It was the best time ever. I am so thankful for the supportive women in my life, and these girls are no exception.
And now that I’ve basically recapped the whole weekend, you can watch a little vlog I put together. I know it’s redundant, and I didn’t vlog the entire weekend, but it makes me smile and feel happy that I have such a great group of people in my life.
