It’s that time of year where we all go nuts for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! If you follow more than one blogger, you’ve probably noticed them talking about it. I think it’s definitely hyped up quite a bit and people talk about it for weeks, but there really are some good finds in this sale.
What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
Nordstrom puts out new in-season products out on sale every July – no need to wait for the end of the season for them to go on sale. When it comes to beauty, they curate a bunch of really cool sets and discounts on cult favorite products. It’s a great time to stock up on things you need or perhaps shop for gifts.
Not once in this blog post will you hear me say that you NEED any of this stuff. Get what is in your means. What makes sense for your budget. Don’t think you NEED to go crazy.
When is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale EARLY ACCESS opens July 12 for card holders and opens up to everyone else on July 18. The sale runs until August 5. If you rarely shop at Nordstrom, don’t think you NEED to open up a credit card to be able to shop this sale. Yeah, some things may sell out before public access, but they do restock a lot of the items. If you do want to open up a Nordstrom card, you’ll get immediate access to the sale once approved.
This Shopping Guide
Alright, now let’s get to my picks. I was really intentional about what I would share, and I decided to do a heavy focus on beauty. A lot of you guys trust my opinion when it comes to that, so that’s what I’m here to give. I was very meticulous going over the sale, only highlighting what I think are the very best deals or offers you can take advantage of. Some of the sets aren’t that great of a savings. However, there are lots of really great items!
Aside from beauty, I am looking for some things for myself – so I decided to share a few fashion picks. Feel free to skip over if you want, but I think there are some really good fall basics in this sale.
As always, I give you a huge thank you for shopping through my links. If you click on a link and purchase, I make a tiny commission which helps me to be able to continue to create my content. The price you pay stays the same (you will never pay more to make me a commission). I will never share items just to make a buck off of you, it’s just an added bonus for the time and effort I put in to create this guide!
Anyway, let’s get to it!
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Best of Beauty
For these picks, I really focused on makeup (my first true love) and what gets you the most bang for your buck. I wasn’t too incredibly impressed with the tools and gadgets. The skincare sets were a little lacking for me, too.
My eyes always go straight to the makeup first. It’s just who I am – makeup excites me more than skincare and haircare! I’d have to say that these are my top 5 picks when it comes to the makeup sets available in the sale. I really think the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Kit is going to be a top seller so if you’re eyeing that, I’d grab it quickly.
Tools & Gadgets
There weren’t too many haircare items that jumped out at me, but the ones that did are real good. Oribe is so expensive, it’s worth trying it at a discount (their dry texturizing spray is legit!). I also really love all of the Drybar styling products. Lastly, Shampure is always a good idea. It smells so amazing!
I have to admit, skincare rarely excites me. I don’t know – to me, skincare is so personal. There was a lot to weed through, but I found a few things that I definitely think are worth trying if you had your eye on these brands. I am a huge fan of Mario Badescu and this set is for sure my number one skincare pick.
Now let’s get to fashion pieces. I figured I would throw in some fashion that particularly excites me. I have not tried a single piece on, but here’s what I’m eyeballing and think is worth grabbing.
I am no fashion expert by any means, but I shop the sale every year to stock up on a few fall staples and basics that rarely go on sale (i.e. Zella and Barefoot Dreams). The best thing about the Nordstrom sale is that they put brand new in-season pieces on sale – no having to wait until the end of the season. It’s pretty awesome! I always use it as an excuse to grab a few cardigans, some leggings, shoes, and denim.
Here’s what I’m eyeing…
Nordstrom Anniversary Fashion Picks
The name of the game this year for me is comfy cozy pieces. I am going to be newly postpartum this fall and I am particularly looking for things I can pair with leggings and still look cute. I also like the idea of some fun new fall shoes to jazz up whatever I’m wearing. There are a few dressier items I have on this list. I put them on there with the idea that it would work well postpartum and for nursing.
I also threw in a few other items in here that I personally own and have bought during previous sales, like the BP V-Neck Tee, the Zella Leggings, and the Wit & Wisdom Jeans. Highly recommend all of those items!
At the top of my Wish List
- Barefoot Dreams Cardigan – The hype is real with this Barefoot Dreams stuff. I have another one of their cardigans and practically lived in it in cooler months. It’s amazing.
- Mules – Love the pattern of these and I think these will be a fun fall addition. Let’s face it, fall doesn’t really happen here in Houston, so mules are a good shoe to wear when it’s still 80 degrees outside.
- Spanx Faux Leather Leggings – I have been wanting to pull the trigger on these for probably 2 years. No joke. Now is the time. Leggings will be the name of my postpartum game.
- V-Neck Tunic Tee – All the tunic tees to make leggings appropriate and cover the bum.
- BP Cardigan – I have the one from last year’s sale (slightly different) and loved it so much I want this one.
- Pajama Set – I love pajama sets and want one in every color. These will be fabulous postpartum!
I think that about covers it! I’m overwhelmed looking at baby items, home decor, kids stuff, etc. So we’re just going to stick with beauty and fashion pieces. If I find something I really love I’ll make sure to update this post and share!
