Skincare during pregnancy and nursing isn’t as complicated as you think. There are lots of gems that you can use and are affordable! Here are some of my favorite skincare products I used during my last pregnancy and while I was nursing my baby.
I weaned Logan about a month ago, and I have started incorporating more aggressive treatments back into my routine (namely tretinoin and injectables). However, I thought it would be really helpful to break down all of my favorite skincare products I used during my pregnancy and while I was nursing.
I put together this video and blog post to break down all of my favorite skincare products. This isn’t necessarily a “routine” – but more about which products I really enjoyed and saw positive results from. I had Logan when I was 36, so anti-aging was important to me.
If you’re 30 and up – you’re going to love these skincare recommendations for pregnancy and nursing!
DISCLAIMER: I’m not a doctor and/or medical professional. Please consult with your doctor before starting any sort of new skincare regimen. Make sure these products are “in the clear” for you per your doctor’s instructions. These products were on the “ok” list for me via my OBGYN’s office, but things can change. Always be safe, do research, and get the green light from your doctor!

Best Skincare for Pregnancy & Nursing
Here’s everything I talked about in the video, and why I love the products so much. A lot of these are great for anti-aging, as well – which is great if you’re 30 and up!
The Pixi Glow Tonic has been a favorite of mine for many years and has remained a staple during my pregnancy and while I was nursing. It’s formulated with 5% glycolic acid to exfoliate the skin. Some people prefer to stay away from glycolic acid, but I got the green light from my doctor. I apply this like a toner, right after cleansing.
Hyaluronic Acid Serum is an absolute staple of mine, no matter my stage of life. It hydrates the skin without it ever feeling greasy. Hyaluronic acid is found within so many moisturizing skincare products, and I like to use it in pure form. I use this serum twice a day, immediately after cleansing.
The Good Molecules Super Peptide Serum is a more recent find but something I’ve absolutely been loving. The brand itself is very affordable (much like The Ordinary), and focuses a lot on sustainability, as well! I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in skin texture since incorporating this in. It’s formulated with peptides and copper tripeptides to help hydrate, brighten and smooth. I wear this serum at night underneath my moisturizer and over my hyaluronic acid serum.
If you haven’t incorporated a Vitamin C Serum into your routine, you need to! It is an antioxidant that targets fine lines, uneven skin texture, and scars. I wear Vitamin C serum in the morning before moisturizer and sunscreen.
My holy grail moisturizer (favorite of all time!!) is the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. I love the gel texture (never feels heavy or greasy), and my skin is always happy when I’m using it. I use it mostly at night (even though it’s advertised as a day cream).
The Ordinary brand has a wide array of incredible and affordable products. If you are looking for a facial oil, I highly recommend the Plant-Derived Squalane. I like to use this with a facial roller or if I want a little extra hydration.
I tried a lot of the Burt’s Bees Renewal skincare line while I was nursing, and I loved all of it! My favorite out of the bunch was definitely the Renewal Eye Cream. It’s formulated with Bakuchiol, which is a retinol alternative that’s safe for pregnant and nursing women. I noticed an improvement in the fine lines around my eyes with continual use. It also lasts forever (been using it for months and months and it still hasn’t run out). I use it both day and night.
A rose quartz facial roller is such a lovely addition to a skincare routine. It is relaxing and pampering! I think it works best when you apply a facial oil first and the use the roller.
The Supergoop Glowscreen is one of my favorite skincare finds from this year. It’s got a glowy finish and can be worn alone or as a primer. It’s also a “clean” beauty product.
I hardly ever hear anyone talk about the Advanced Clinicals brand, but they have so many incredible products that are not only high quality but are super affordable! I’ve absolutely loved this Rosewater Mask – it’s hydrating, soothing, and pampering. Many think it’s a great dupe to the Peter Thomas Roth one (I haven’t tried it so I can’t give my thoughts there).
Sleep is not the best when I’m pregnant and postpartum. Pretty sure every expecting and new mama agrees with me here. These depuffing gel eye masks help! I like to use these in the morning.
Another gem from Advanced Clinicals! This Hyaluronic & Aloe Face Mist is a recent find, but I’ve loved it. It’s refreshing, cooling, and affordable (especially since you get a huge 8 oz bottle of it). Love using this in the morning to wake up.

What products did you love and use for pregnancy and nursing? I would love to know!
