Now more than ever is such an important time to shop small. 2020 is a year that shook the livelihood of so many, and it’s been so vital to give back and support the businesses around us.
I put together this small business gift guide as a reference for small businesses I love, some that are new to me (but reader suggested!), and shops I plan on supporting this holiday season. We have a myriad of gift ideas in this post, all of which that will help a small business!
While I’ve featured small businesses from all over, a lot of them are Texas-based!

Arrow Town Designs
All sorts of beautiful and hand made personalized gifts. Milestone cards, ornaments, puzzles, name signs and more! Logan’s acrylic name puzzle is from this shop, and it’s absolutely beautiful. This is all run by a mama in Michigan.
Paper Lane Design
Hand lettered signage, decor, and gifts. Perfect for birthday parties, weddings, and personalized touches. Tiffany made Logan’s first birthday sign, and she also did our personalized Easter basket tags. She’s so incredibly talented! Based out of Riverbank, CA.
Kusshi Bags
Kusshi is a brand I’ve loved for over 4 years! They make the best travel makeup bags. I never travel without them! They are on the higher priced side for makeup bags, but I promise you they are worth every penny. They’re machine washable! This is a wonderful gift idea for the jet setter or makeup lover in your life. The owner is an American living in Munich, Germany!
Rosehip Essentials
Rosehip Essentials is completely homemade bath, body, and skincare products. My girls used to go to preschool with the owner’s girls, and that is how I found out about this amazing business. Brittney’s lip balms are my holy grail lip balm, her soaps smell incredible, and her serums are beautiful. There’s something for everyone here! Based out of Seabrook, TX.
Rhae
Rhae is a new size-inclusive online boutique, started by two friends. They carry a wide array of products, from pajamas to beautiful clothing pieces, beauty, and more. Their robes are also incredible! I have some of their pajamas and boy are they the cutest and so fabulous! You’re sure to find something here for a friend, no matter what her size is. They carry up to 4X in many of their items. Based out of Austin, TX.
Suma Clothing
Suma is a Houston-based small business that makes handmade special occasion dresses and clothes. Every piece is crafted by artisans in Mexico, and is also a brand committed to giving back. For every piece that sells, a full day’s meal is donated to a child in need. If you like smocked girly dresses, you will love their pieces!
M+M Couture Designs
If you are looking for precious gemstones, look no further. I had the pleasure of connecting with Mari a few years back, the owner and designer of M+M Couture Designs. She told me the story of her brand and how thoughtfully she picks each and every stone that goes into her pieces. Everything is hand sourced, and they are high quality stones. If you have someone in your life who collects crystals or pretty gemstones, I promise she will love these. Now she can wear them! Based out of Houston, TX.
Trey Rinando Woodworking
Our friends recently started selling all of these beautiful wood-crafted gifts and ornaments, and I have already snagged a few for ourselves! Trey does custom wood work, as well (for those who are in the Houston area). He crafts amazing furniture pieces, and his wife does all these adorable ornaments, wood gifts, and door mats. Snag one of their cute ornaments for a gift exchange you have coming up, for a teacher, or for yourself! Based out of Friendswood, TX.
White Loft
If you have a friend who is an expecting or new mama, she will love the growth charts at White Loft. They not only have these adorable milestone markers (as seen with Baby Logan), they also have ruler wooden growth charts that can be put in a nursery or kid’s room to measure how tall they get throughout the years. Such a wonderful and thoughtful gift idea that’s sure to impress. Based out of Austin, TX.
Willow Crowns
Willow Crowns is a small business I have loved for years. Megan, the owner, designs and makes such gorgeous bows, headbands, dog bandanas, embroidered tops, and more! You are sure to love something she offers. Based out of Houston, TX.
Cuteheads
The epitome of beautifully designed girls’ dresses. Esther, the owner and designer, is always bringing fresh and classic ideas to her shop. They carry sizes 0-3 months to 8 years in many of their items. These pieces make great gifts, holiday dresses, party dresses, and even flower girl dresses. Based in Houston, TX.
The Crunchy Mommy Digital Planners
My friend Aaronica has done an amazing job of designing and developing digital planners! She offers a homeschool planner, sewing planner, and a self care planner. They are digital files that are compatible on tablets with GoodNotes, Xodo, or Notability. This is such a fun gift idea to give your tech loving girlfriend! Based in Atlanta, GA.
Mini Melanie
Alright, who doesn’t love food as a gift? Anyone on your list is going to go nuts over Mini Melanie cake truffles. Yes, they are as good as they sound. Mini Melanie is a bakery based in NYC and they ship a lot of their creations (including the infamous cake truffles) across the country.
Oasis Salon & Medi Spa
Give the gift of injectables! Haha! I promise she won’t mind. You just tell her that here’s a gift card to a med spa that offers all sorts of pampering treatments (and hair services) and she will love you forever. I get my injectables done here and absolutely love them. Give them a call or contact them through their website to get a gift card! Based in Webster, TX.
Woodhouse Day Spa Baybrook
Spa day? We’re in! Support Woodhouse Day Spa at Baybrook and give the gift of relaxation. I highly recommend the Woodhouse Escape package. It’s incredible!! Based in Friendswood, TX (but there are locations all over!)
Paint and Prose
Beautiful prints that are sure to wow anyone! These two mamas design and create their prints (not digital – they do come as physical prints). There are lots of options! Based in TX.
Oswald & Ari Candles
Oswald & Ari candles are hand-poured soy candles. Their jar designs are also so cute! I’m definitely grabbing a cider donuts candle. Based in Haverhill, MA.
