We live in an age where it appears that our lives are on display for our social media feeds to see. It’s a blessing to be able to connect with friends and relatives far away, but sometimes it can be overwhelming. I know sometimes it’s hard to feel like we’re not doing enough or have enough. We see beautiful photos and forget that social media is everyone’s highlight reel.
You may be surprised to hear that it’s overwhelming to me at times, too. My job as a digital creator is to always be “on” and have a beautiful presence. My Instagram feed is full of meticulously photographed and edited photos. I spend hours on every single blog post I’ve written or video I’ve edited. Even the photos in this post were taken by a talented professional photographer. It’s a lot to keep up and I often feel like I’m not “enough” in this space.
When I look back on this year, my mind immediately goes to what I did not accomplish versus what I did. Why do we do this to ourselves? Why can’t we be content? Is it a mom thing? Is it a woman thing? Is it a goal-oriented person thing? I don’t know, and it needs to stop.
The truth is, I have so much to be proud of this year, and I always fail to realize that I am only one person. How in the world can we literally do it all when there is only one of us? It’s impossible. The best thing we can do for ourselves is to do what we can and to be proud of it.
Remember, we all have our own unique gifts and talents. It’s okay to also celebrate that as unique and wonderful women. I would never describe myself as “crafty”, but I can rock a face of full glam in sweatpants. I bow down to the crafty Pinterest people of the world.
This is particularly important for us all to remember during the holiday season. You are enough. Your talents and gifts are enough. Celebrate that.
Celebrate the holidays your way, not the way Instagram tells you to. Want to deck the halls ’til you’re blue in the face? Knock your socks off. Keep the decor simple? Less to take down in January! Have an elf? Have fun with that. Cook an elaborate meal? Treat yourself. Order takeout? You go, girl.
Dress up to the nines? Work it. Rock leggings? I support you. It’s time you holiday your way.
I know looking your best can also be a stressful element when it comes to gatherings, functions, parties, and events during the holiday season.
I have never been super adventurous with my outfit choices until recently. I’ve really begun to love getting dressed. You know, on the actual days that I do. Let’s not forget that I spend 5 days out of the week in loungewear.
For all of those “get dressed” days, Evereve is one of my go-to retailers. I love that each store is catered to moms. They specialize in personalized styling sessions (for free!), and they are super gifted at finding amazing pieces and styling them in ways I would’ve never thought to do myself.
There is something for everyone at Evereve – whether you’re a leggings-as-pants or glam type of girl. You’ll definitely be ready to holiday your way.
I’ve got two Evereve looks to share with you today that are perfect for any holiday gathering.
I love these two looks for the season, and I am all about versatile pieces that can be dressed up or down. Either of these looks can be dressed down and I can also mix and match these pieces with other items in my closet. I can get quite a few looks, and I’m basically covered for all of my events and gatherings for the rest of the year (and beyond).
This first outfit is for those that love to stay comfy and want to trick everyone you’re way more glam than you actually are. These ponte pants feel like you’re wearing leggings (they’re so comfortable!), the velvet cami is effortless, and the super soft city coat is so fabulous yet so comfy!

My favorite part of this outfit is the super soft city coat. It is so fuzzy and soft, and also a statement! I wore it to an event on Wednesday (with the faux leather skirt and another cami, no less!) and got lots of compliments.
The second outfit is more of a statement, but it’s still an easy look. We’re mixing faux leather with a gorgeous chenille sweater. Throw some over the knee boots on and you are edgy and fashionable. Bam.

I cannot believe how versatile this vegan faux leather skirt is! Now that it’s in my closet, I keep dreaming of different ways to wear it. I also can’t wait to wear this chenille sweater with some denim.
Cheers to a holiday wardrobe that’s easy, just like I like my holiday season.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and truly enjoy celebrating it without guilt and the need for perfection. Remember, you are enough and the way you celebrate is the best way ever.
You’re amazing, Meg! Thank you for sharing your real. I can totally relate. I never feel enough and I wonder if it’s a goal driven person thing? I love love love these outfits! So festive and pretty. You look gorgeous! Enjoy your holiday – your way!
