I think we all know I am a makeup hoarder by now. I test and try so many different types of foundations. When I was thinking about what my holy grail foundations were, I had a hard time narrowing it down, so I narrowed it down to seven! Haha! I feel like there’s something for everyone in this list, so that’s okay.

1. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
I have to say, out of all of the foundations here today this is my number one choice. I have been wearing Estee Lauder Double Wear for a long time, and it’s one I always go back to. I wear shade 2W0 Warm Vanilla.Product claims include:
- 24-hour staying power
- 56 shades (so inclusive!)
- Matte foundation that looks flawless and natural
- Feels lightweight and comfortable
- Oil-free and oil controlling
- Won’t clog pores
- Fragrance-free
- Number 1 foundation sold in the US
2. Too Faced Born This Way Foundation
I always reach for the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation when I know I need to be in photos or on video (family photos, news segments I’ve done, etc.). It makes my skin look airbrushed and flawless, and it does a pretty darn decent job at staying put! I wear shade Vanilla. Product claims include:
- 36 shades
- Medium to full undetectable coverage
- Hydrating and long wearing (great for all skin types)
- Photo-friendly, no flash back
- Oil-free, won’t clog pores

3. Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation
I haven’t talked much about the Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation, but I’ve been familiar with it for about a year. I recently started adding this into the rotation and have been blown away by how much I love it. It looks so gorgeous on the skin! I wear shade Sand 2. Product claims include:
- 42 shades
- Up to 16-hour wear
- Medium buildable coverage with a multidimensional matte finish
- Comfortable, breathable, weightless
- Great for normal, combo, and oily skin

4. It Cosmetics CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte
If the original It Cosmetics CC Cream is a little too slippery and greasy for you, you will love the It Cosmetics CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte. It isn’t dry at all, but stays put comfortably. I wear shade Light. Product claims include:
- 12 shades (only downside to this product)
- Full coverage
- Oil-free
- Infused with charcoal to detoxify, colloidal clay to absorb oil, and tea tree oil to combat blemishes
- SPF 40
- Best for normal, combo, and oily skin
5. L’Oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation
This is one of the only dewy foundations that I really love on my skin. The L’Oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation has medium coverage and a radiant finish, but it stays put really well. It doesn’t tend to break apart too much on me, which I love. I wear shade 202. Product claims include:
- 12 shades
- Up to 24-hour wear
- Radiant Finish
- Medium Coverage
- Very light texture
6. L’Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation
Out of all the foundations at the drugstore, I really think the L’Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation will work for almost everyone. It is the most inclusive shade wise, and has a coverage and finish I think a lot of people will love. I wear shade 445. Product claims include:
- 40 shades! Most inclusive drugstore foundation
- Breakthrough long-wear foundation
- Breathable skin technology
- Medium to full buildable coverage
- Up to 24 hour wear

7. Wet ‘n Wild PhotoFocus Foundation Stick
I tried this stick foundation last year and loved it so much! I swear to you, the Wet ‘n Wild PhotoFocus Foundation Stick is a total dupe to the Hourglass foundation stick (even wrote a whole blog post comparing the two). It’s so easy to use, looks flawless on the skin, and I love the buildable coverage. I wear shade Classic Ivory. Product claims include:
- 16 shades
- Easy to use, multi-tasking stick
- Long-lasting coverage
- Lightweight multi-dimensional formula
- Great for all skin types
- Looks gorgeous in photos
- Cruelty-free, vegan
- Cheapest foundation on this list, under $7
Hope this list was helpful! Let me know if you’ve tried any of these!
I had a horrible experience with the original IT Cosmetics CC Creme oxidizing! Does the oil free formula oxidize at all?
I feel like it doesn’t oxidize on me!
