Summer of Passion Fruit at the Omni Houston Hotel – Our Staycation

If you’ve never had a little staycation in your own city, you are missing out. It’s such a fun way to get away without having to go far. It’s especially nice when you’re towards the end of your pregnancy and you want some relaxation!
My girls are obsessed with visiting hotels so when we surprised them with a trip to the Omni, they were stoked! We not only used this time to get some family time in, but also celebrate Caroline’s birthday a little early (since we will be in the hospital after having a baby on the day of her actual birthday).
We had such a wonderful weekend staycation at the Omni Houston Hotel. The icing on the cake? We got to experience their summer poolside offerings – particularly the Summer of Passion Fruit menu!
Omni Houston Hotel
It’s been a few years since I’ve been to the Omni here in Houston and they have done a fabulous job renovating and updating the property. We loved our spacious suite – plenty of room for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. Mama especially enjoyed that plush king size bed.
We also loved the location of the property as it is really close to Uptown Park and the Galleria. There’s also a hotel shuttle that will take you wherever your heart desires within a few mile radius. You can also call and they’ll pick you up! Super convenient when parking can be a nightmare at the Galleria.
Summer of Passion Fruit Poolside Menu
Any staycation is perfect with a visit to the pool. Am I right, or am I right?
Omni Hotels and Resorts have leveled up the poolside experience with their “Summer of” culinary series. Every summer, Omni properties elevate their poolside menu highlighting one of the country’s most popular ingredients with a carefully created menu of food and drink options.
This is no ordinary pool food. We’re talking fresh ingredients and menu items crafted by culinary masterminds. Basically, music to my ears!
This year, you can experience dishes inspired by passion fruit!
Let me just say – what a treat to be able to experience these culinary treats without even having to leave the pool!
As you can see, the menu is full of so many yummy culinary delights. I started off with a mocktail – they made their passion fruit mule for me to enjoy without the alcohol, and that was delicious and refreshing.
Greg and I ordered the quinoa, snow pea and cucumber salad along with the crab cake sandwich. Yum!
And we can’t forget about dessert – frozen macarons with sorbet!
What a fun pool experience! We thoroughly enjoyed every menu item and appreciated that the experience was a food lover’s dream. Again, clearly not your normal pool food situation.
