Like many, we are big coffee drinkers in this house. My husband orders specialty coffee from monks in some remote place in the Rocky Mountains. You think I’m joking, but I’m actually not. We don’t like single serve pods, or grounds. We like grinding our own beans and experiencing coffee how it’s traditionally made.
On the other hand, I love crafted coffee beverages. Lattes, macchiatos, cappuccinos, and mochas are no exception.
We recently got the Ninja Coffee Bar® System, and it is the best of both worlds. You can make a perfect pot of coffee, or a fun specialty drink. You can make 4 different sizes of coffee, including a half pot, a full pot, a mug, or travel mug. It also has different brew options. Classic Brew, Rich Brew, Specialty (for those latte-type beverages), and Cafe Forte (which is a rich brew that really brings out the flavors in the coffee). You don’t need a special pod. Just measure the coffee using their scoop, fill the water based on how much you’ll be brewing, and you’re good to go.
I truly think this is the perfect coffee maker for our house because Greg can be a purist and I can have fun with specialty beverages and make my favorite Ninja Coffee Bar recipe.
One feature I have really loved is the frother. It really makes me feel fancy! I’m all about that fancy life.
I’ve been having so much fun playing with this new toy. It’s quickly becoming my favorite gadget in the house!
Now, to my favorite Ninja Coffee Bar recipe I’ve been making with – a skinny peppermint mocha! I love how easy this Ninja Coffee Bar recipe is to make, and it tastes just as great as if I got it from my favorite barista. Winning!
- 1 Tablespoon dutch cocoa
- 1/2 cup skim milk
- Sugar free peppermint syrup to taste (I usually do about 2 Tablespoons)
- 4 ounces specialty brew coffee
- Whipped cream (if you’re feeling fancy)
Place a tablespoon of dutch cocoa in the bottom of a mug. Brew 4 ounces of specialty brew on the Ninja Coffee Bar® System over the cocoa. While the coffee is brewing, warm up a 1/2 cup of milk in the microwave for 45 seconds, and then froth using the frother. Once the coffee is brewed, add in sugar-free peppermint syrup to taste, and then pour the milk and froth on top. Garnish with whipped cream.
