To me, Thanksgiving (which is next week!) is the start of the holiday season. From there on, it’s a complete whirlwind up until December 31. There are parties, events, school gatherings, programs, and recitals. Oh, and of course, there’s the gift shopping list to accomplish. We run ourselves ragged trying to do it all.
We’re eating all the bad-for-you foods (my opinion is YOLO this time of year, and I make no apologies), the weather is constantly changing here in Houston (one day it’s 80 degrees and the next day it’s 40), and we definitely are around a lot more people than usual. This makes us a little bit more susceptible to sickness. We’re more tired, and our immune systems may not be in tip top shape.
In this post, I’ve put together a list of 5 health and wellness items from CVS that help me stay healthy throughout the year, and I know they will help me through the holiday season. Staying healthy through the holidays is something that’s important for us all – nobody wants to miss the fun festivities!
Watch my video on my picks, and I’ve also listed them below!
5 Essentials to Support Health & Wellness Through the Holiday Season
Staying Healthy Through the Holidays
Here are my top five picks I talked about in the video, all of which you can find at CVS!
1. Sinus Wash
If you’ve never used a sinus wash, you’re seriously missing out! It’s a little weird at first, but it truly does help clean out my sinuses and reduce the length of a cold. I always make sure to pull it out when I feel a cold coming on.
2. Foaming Hand Sanitizer
I know I always forget this, but hand sanitizer is an absolute must in my purse 365 days out of the year. However, it’s so much more important to have it on hand during cold and flu season. Pick up some foaming hand sanitizer and leave it in your mom bag at all times!
3. Healing Ointment
Healing ointments are such great multipurpose products. You can use them on dry skin, chapped lips, and diaper rash. I love having this on hand, and I also make sure to travel with it.
4. Daily Probiotic
We’ll be eating all the yummy and delicious food this season, and it may not sit super well with our tummies. Taking a daily probiotic not only ensures gut health but also improves immunity. Win, win!
5. Using the CVS App to Schedule a Flu Vaccine at the Minute Clinic
I’ve talked a lot before how much I love the CVS Pharmacy Mobile App. I use it to scan my ExtraCare Card, the CVS Pay function, to pick up prescriptions, and even for their Curbside pickup. One other thing you can do on the app is schedule a MinuteClinic visit! I know we all are so busy throughout the holiday season, and every minute counts. Instead of taking a chance it and waiting around in store, I love that I can schedule my visit. That way I can be in and out as quickly as possible! Flu vaccines are covered by my insurance, so there is no excuse for me not to get one, especially with the cold and flu season upon us. You should get one, too!
Although this time of year is so busy, it definitely is my favorite. I look forward to every moment with my family and the ones I love most. Even better if I can stay well through it all.
Happy start to the holiday season! Be well!
