Fall is here, and we’re busting out the pumpkin candles and cozy sweaters. (Except, no sweaters here down in Houston.) All the beauty lovers rejoice to pull out their warm and vampy fall makeup essentials. I don’t know about you, but I get the most excited to wear bold lipstick.
I have a lot of friends and readers tell me they’re nervous to rock a bold lip because they think they’ll look silly. Friends, you won’t. Bold lipstick will make you feel powerful, and it’s an automatic way to make you look more awake and alive. Did you hear that, moms? Awake and alive!
I suggest to first start with a blue-based (cool toned) red lipstick as your first dabble into the land of bold lipsticks. It’s a classic look that’s flattering on literally everyone.
The first step to a bold lip is to make sure your pearly whites are extra fabulous. I have been using Tom’s of Maine Luminous White toothpaste, which is the brand’s most advanced whitening toothpaste ever. I am a huge fan of Tom’s of Maine, as we have been exclusively using their toothpaste for at least the last six months. So, when I had the opportunity to try out the new Luminous White toothpaste, it was a no-brainer! Whiter teeth in two weeks, and 100% sourced from natural ingredients? Yes, please!
My pearly whites are thanking me and are getting brighter as the weeks go by. Taking care of my smile is the first step in any bold lip, as a white smile looks good on everyone!
Once my teeth are feeling so fresh and so clean clean, I make sure to exfoliate the lips with either a towel, scrub, or an exfoliator. Having a clean canvas to work on makes the lip color go on smoother and stay longer.
Finally, I line the lips with a lip liner and apply my lipstick starting from the bottom lip and working my way up. Practice makes perfect, just as it does with everything else in life.
The last step to a bold lip: rock it, and don’t forget to smile!
