A few weeks ago, my friend Ling took our family photos. I have been dying for her to take our photos, because she is one incredibly talented portrait photographer. All of her photos have such amazing artistic quality. I mean, just look at her instagram! She specializes in senior portraits, and I was so thankful she stepped out of her usual niche to photograph us.
I must admit, on the day of the shoot, we were kind of a hot mess. Kennedy was being an almost three-year-old, and Caroline was overtired and a bit grumpy. Not to mention Greg wasn’t exactly happy that he had to miss part of the big Patriots game versus the Broncos. Despite my meticulous outfit planning, hair fixing and my precise makeup application, things weren’t exactly as I planned them in my head.
But, fortunately, Ling was really able to capture the essence of our family and snap some photos that I will forever cherish. The one below is my favorite and will be on our Christmas card photo!
Looking through these photos has made my heart feel so full. When did I ever get so lucky to have such a beautiful family? These images just evoke thankfulness in me. And, on the eve of Thanksgiving, I find that quite appropriate.
Caroline was just a twinkle in our eye last year, and I am amazed at how much we have grown and changed in just one year (just look at last year’s photos!). This Thanksgiving, I celebrate how rich our lives are. This Thanksgiving, I give thanks to God for these riches.
