5 Healthy Habits for a Healthy School Year

Thank you to for sponsoring today’s blog post. The text and opinions are 100% mine. Thank you for reading and supporting my blog!

We’ve made it. The school year is in full swing! Cheers to routine and schedule. Sometimes the days and weeks can feel long, but I’m excited about my kids’ fantastic school experiences full of learning opportunities. I’m looking forward to school activities, field trips, dance class, fall family travel, and the holidays!

Throughout the school year and the changing seasons, it’s important to keep everyone in the family feeling their best. To help us have a healthy school year, I’ve put together a list of five healthy habits to incorporate as a family. Everyone in the family can join in.

5 Healthy Habits for a Healthy School Year

5 Healthy habits for a healthy school year!

1. Daily physical activity

Physical activity is important for the entire family’s health and wellness, especially the young ones. Reduce screen time allowance and enforce a play time rule. Go on nightly walks as a family. Set a physical activity goal not only for yourself but for your kids. A strong body will be a healthy body. I have actually set a goal to get in activity 5-6 days a week, with heavier workouts 2-3 times a week. It’s made a huge difference in the way that I feel, even if I take a 20-minute walk around the neighborhood. I also notice my girls are happier and sleep better when we give them more play time.

2. Hand washing

I can’t tell you how important hand washing is for helping to keep everyone healthy throughout the school year. It’s essential that everyone in the house makes it a habit to frequently wash hands. Also, keep hand sanitizer with you when you’re out and about. You just never know.

3. Proper hygiene

Practicing and teaching kids proper hygiene instills healthy habits. Teach them about baths, teeth brushing, and clean clothes. It’s also important to practice good hygiene when we are not feeling our best. Teach kids how to properly blow their noses and how to cover their mouths when they sneeze.

4. Vitamins

Vitamins are an important part of our routine not only during the school year but beyond. I’ve mentioned before that we love the Zarbee’s Naturals Elderberry Immune Support* Gummies and have incorporated them into our vitamin lineup. With both adults and kids products, they’re great for the whole family.
