Since I’ve been posting about Caroline turning one all week, might as well finish it off with a post about her birthday party! This past weekend, we gathered with our closest family and friends for a fun little “twinkle twinkle little star, one year old is what you are” birthday party. That was the theme, but it wasn’t in your face. Stars were the accent (confetti, balloons, signs/labels, cake topper). Looking at these photos, it just looks like a metallic and pink theme. I’m totally cool with that.
The decorations turned out super cute, the food was yummy and it really was low-stress! A lot of things contributed to that, the big one being that Shindigz contacted me and offered to give me store credit to cover party supplies and decorations. When a party supply online store contacts you as you’re planning a first birthday party, YOU SAY YES. But in all seriousness, I loved the selection, great customer service, and it all shipped fast.
Second thing is we did minimal cooking. Greg and I love to cook and entertain, but for this party we didn’t want to stress out about it. Especially with big life changes happening the weeks leading up to the party, this was the best decision. We ordered a big ol’ tray of nuggets from Chick-fil-a, two trays from HEB (chicken salad croissant and deli wraps), and then made fruit and caprese kabobs. My mom brought two salads. We also had a “kids” table (somehow didn’t get a picture) with goldfish, veggie chips, apple sauce pouches, and juice boxes. It was the perfect amount of food. I love fancy birthday cakes, so we splurged there with a bakery we always use and love. It was worth it – the cake was absolutely delicious and loved by all! We did a white vanilla almond cake with ivory ruffle icing and gold sugar crystals.
Anyway, let’s just get to the photos.

She is a smash cake eating champ! I just love that picture of her at the end. You’re a smart lady for keeping the food simple! I’m totally out sourcing the food for baby #2’s baptism.

Quite a different baby this one is than her sister. Big sis hated her cake! Haha. And yes, outsourcing all the food was the best decision ever!!!

Oh my goodness! She looks like such a big girl all of a sudden. Seeing her sitting next to her friend…the cutest! 🙂 And that grin with the cake? Love! I’m so sad we missed it.
We splurge with big cakes, too, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Caroline’s looked incredible! Love ya!

Oh my gosh she is just so darling!! LOVE the party theme, so cute and love that it wasn’t over the top! I am so over bday party planning LOL I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do for Scarlett’s this year but I’m thinking I’ll let her choose a special event and just take a couple of her friends along. We have a place that hosts princess tea parties here so I’m leaning toward that… I just like to keep the mess out of my house! LOL

Thank you so much! Yeah, I am pretty sure we are going to let Kennedy choose a location for her 4th birthday party…. that’s definitely not our house. Our biggest struggle is her birthday is a week before Christmas so that will be interesting to plan. The princess tea party sounds so fun!!

The. Cutest!!!! Yay for a low stress, precious, perfect party!
