Margaritas & Makeup Event at La Fisheria Houston
A few weeks ago I had a fun event that I hosted for my Instagram followers! I had so much fun getting to meet local ladies while sipping on some fabulous margaritas and indulging in some brunch items.
This idea came about when I was thinking of a fun way to give back to my community. As a beauty blogger, I get a lot of press samples from brands as gifts for consideration. Many times I will be sent an entire foundation range. I’ll also be sent duplicates of the same item, or products that just don’t really work for my skin type/tone. I have a lot of leftovers!
I typically let my friends and family go through my stash when they come over, and I have donated leftovers to a local women’s shelter. This time around when my stash was at capacity, I thought it would be an awesome idea to have a get-together with my local followers! We could nosh on yummy food, chat, and everyone could “shop” my stash as a thank you for following along.
La Fisheria in downtown Houston was the gracious host for this event, and it could not have been more perfect.
La Fisheria is centrally located downtown with an amazing fresh menu of unique and traditional Mexican items. Their focus is on seafood, but do not let their name fool you. They have something for everyone. We particularly enjoyed their brunch items!
For the event, we were provided with their back room event space, which was ample room for everyone to move about. We were able to try some delicious brunch items and their fabulous margaritas. There was not a single thing I didn’t love.
We also had a little spot in the room where everyone could get their “shop” on.
Yes, my friends. This is what the stash comprised of. I was not playing around.
Did I mention how much we loved the food? I have to mention it again.
I had such an amazing time meeting some lovely local ladies and bonding over two of my favorite things in the world – beauty and Mexican food! Haha!
Pretty sure everyone was in makeup heaven. It made my heart so happy that these products were out of the depths of my closet and into the hands of deserving amazing ladies!
Margaritas and makeup… what more could Lura ask for?
I’m so thankful for a community of ladies near and far who care about what I put on the internet. It’s incredibly humbling for one person to even care. I am thankful for every like, comment, view, and share. It means everything to me.
Thanks again to La Fisheria for helping this idea become a reality! I can’t wait to go back to enjoy the restaurant with my family.
Who wants to do this again?
