A Day in the Life of a Working Mom Blogger

Thank you to Wendy's for sponsoring this post. As always, the text and opinions are 100% mine.

One of the questions I get a lot from people is, “How do you do it all?” While I’d like to say that I am a superhero, the reality is I am not. I just commit 100% of myself to the day and try to get as much done as possible.

Many of you know that along with running this blog as a business, I teach part time, 5 days a week in the afternoons. Oh, and I’m a mom. It’s a lot to juggle throughout the day, but I prioritize and just GO GO GO!

I’ve done a couple of these types of posts in the past, but I’m back today for another one to show you what a typical day in my life looks like. I tried to have fun creatively taking photos and focus this post more about what days look like in general for me. I had a lot of fun putting this post together, and I hope you all enjoy it!

A Day in the Life of a Working Mom Blogger

8:00 a.m. Daddy is already off to work (or he’s working from home in the office upstairs). Most of us are up and at ’em at this point. Girls are dressed and eating breakfast and I’m trying to feel human by drinking as much coffee as possible. Caffeine, do your thing.

9:00 a.m. Lunches and backpacks are packed up and ready to go. I get the girls’ shoes on and try to get them out the door. This takes at least ten minutes.

9:30 a.m. School drop off. The girls go to a Mother’s Day Out program five days a week. I drop them off and a babysitter brings them home until either myself or Greg gets home from work. This schedule works great for us so we don’t have to have the girls in a full-time daycare situation (saves a lot of money).

10:00 a.m. I begin my blog work. I have a few hours to myself each morning and I try to make them count as much as I can. I hit the ground running as soon as I get home from drop off, and hustle my tail off.

11:00 a.m. By this point, I try to answer emails, take photos for upcoming posts / Instagram posts, compose drafts, and interact on social media.

11:45 a.m. I am so focused and spend all this time working, and most of the time I forget to eat. It’s important for me to stay healthy, and when I’m in a hurry, I tend to grab things that may not be the best for me. Many times, I’ll pick something up on my way to work, and I didn’t think there were that many fast healthy choices on the way.

But I was wrong! Wendy’s recently gave me the opportunity to try their new Fresh Mozzarella Chicken Salad, which is available this summer season for a limited time. I had totally forgotten about Wendy’s, and it is so convenient on the way to work. I have to say, I am impressed by not only the healthy choices they have for a quick lunch (so many delicious salad choices!), I am in love with this salad! It has pieces of fresh mozzarella, marinated grilled chicken breast, grape tomatoes, seasoned croutons, a drizzle of basil creamy pesto, and served with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing.

I am so thankful I found an exciting and delicious healthy lunch option for me to grab on the way to work. I highly recommend you grab one for yourself!

12:30-4:00 p.m. Time to zip over to work! These are the hours I’m at my teaching job for. I am busy with a whole new set of responsibilities as soon as I get there, and have a blast teaching my students.

4:30 p.m. I’m home and we start the afternoon routine of hanging out, and I’ll start cooking at some point (or Greg will). We split a lot of the responsibilities around the house, and he has been really doing a lot lately because I’ve been so busy with my blog. He’s the best!

6:00-8:00 p.m. Then begins the evening routine of dinner, bath time, and bedtime for the girls. These little ladies sure keep us busy!

9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. Those are the hours I usually spend during the week working on my blog and social media some more. I’ll also work on my Pinterest clients at this time. Some days, I feel like I work more hours than when I was teaching full time. I really love it, though, and I am so happy where my blog is going.

That’s a typical week day for yours truly! Are you a busy mom, too? What do you end up grabbing for lunch when you’re in a hurry?
