Logan’s Simple White and Navy Boy Nursery
When we found out we were having a boy, we were so excited to change our family dynamic. What would he be like? What would he look like? What are boys even like?
Oh, what fun awaited us! We just love this sweet little boy and every day is a joy to watch him grow.
When it came time to really start finishing Logan’s nursery, I really wanted to reuse pieces we already had mixed in with new stuff and keep this space minimal and cozy. I wanted to create a space that could grow with him as he grows. I didn’t really decide on a “theme” for the room – I was drawn to adventure/travel elements and keeping it neutral with a few touches of navy.
I’m so glad that we held onto a few things from Caroline’s nursery – it really made everything so easy. In fact, some of the pieces were even placed in the exact same spots. The only new furniture piece we added was the glider. The rest is furniture we already had with added decor pieces and a rug.
I hope you love this space as much as I do! I have every single item in this room linked at the bottom of this blog post for easy reference and shopping. If something is not linked, it means it is old or unavailable, or I got it at Hobby Lobby and I can’t find it on their website (a lot of the accent pieces were from there, including that lovely mirror I can’t find anywhere online).
Simple Boy Nursery
This is the view right when you walk in. It is such a calm and serene space – I just love it! Oh, and the wall color is Agreeable Gray by Sherwin Williams. I have it almost everywhere in my house.
Here’s the view looking towards the door. I put in a bookshelf with a watercolor canvas above it. There is also a rocking horse in the corner that was gifted by my kids’ great grandparents when Kennedy was a toddler – I’m glad the rocking horse can live on! I will say I am stumped a little bit on how to style this wall and think I need something else there, but it works for now!
I’m a big fan of using a dresser as a changing table. The setup with the dresser and the floating shelves is the same as what we did in Caroline’s nursery, but styled differently. I honestly like the way I styled the shelves even better this time! I found a lot of that stuff from Hobby Lobby (sticking to the travel/adventure type of theme) and also mixed in books and items we already had (like the Mouseketeer hat and my nephew’s tiny shoes he handed down to us)!
I got this mirror on super clearance at Hobby Lobby… pretty sure I paid under $15 for it. It was an amazing find! I love the idea of a beautiful mirror over the crib.
Continuing with the “adventure” accents – I had to also pay homage to Massachusetts and Texas, where both Greg and I are from. I found these printable maps on Etsy and put them in IKEA frames I already had on hand. They’re my favorite art pieces in the room!
We love this little boy so much, and we love his sweet little room!
